At the risk of being told I know nothing I remember reading the following somewhere

When the 290 was released - 'SEAT are keen for it to be known that the power increase is engineering/ mechanical changes rather than software' this was written when talking about the different exhaust system on the 290 compared to the 280.

This obviously can't be the case with the 300 due to the different torque outputs of the 300 compared with the 280/290. 300 has slightly higher mid range boost whilst maximum boost remains the same which goes someway to explaining why a car with supposedly 20more bhp still has the same 0-62 time.

I thought the 0-60/62 came down another tenth on the 300 compared to the 290.

I wasn't aware of that but that's not me trying to say you're wrong, I just have no idea. What's 1 tenth between Cupra friends anyway.

However there are plenty of YouTube Videos showing how much quicker the 300 is to 100mph+. Although they are generally videos of just the digital speedo so you can pick holes in them like swiss cheese.

I suppose that's where the extra torque and 0.1 of boost come into their own

From what i have seen a number of the 280's when put on the dyno in stock mode were showing 300 but as @AndrewJB pointed out they changed the mid range torque on both the 290 and 300.

My main concern is that I have signed a contract for a 300, as I can't get that anymore what's to stop the lease company voiding this contract if the prices move against them?

Wasn't that discontinued when the 300PS was introduced? It's not in any of the MY17 price lists, so hasn't been available for at least 18 months...

It was still there a few weeks ago. Brembo, cup Racer wheels, PS4 tyres and the skirts, but it does seem to be gone now!

It's not in any of the price lists issued since January 2017, so hasn't been a factory option (if it ever was) for at least that long...

I was talking about the UK-market Sub8 Performance Pack that was discontinued before the MY17 300PS car was launched. I have no idea about the Irish market, sorry.

Frustrating we don’t have the Sub8 pack in the UK. Although I don’t like the wheels in the 300 version

Yeah 2018
