I don’t suppose anybody knows what these alloys are below?

They look like the new cupra R wheels but I highly doubt they’re available to buy individually.

From seat website. I think the color is not factory, perhaps modded. So the seat badge, painted as gold..

The first set look aftermarket... the second set are the “Performance II” optional alloys that I have seen fitted to all of the Mk3 FL FRs that I have seen on the continent this past week.

The original picture do look like 19s. The other pictures are 18s. Funnily enough I was just looking up these alloys. And also going to create a thread on another.
But the top picture DOES. Look like the 18s. There’s just more tyre thickness on the 18s which leave to believe the gold ones are 19s.

Anyway what is the English model number for these types of 18s?
These are my second choice alloys after the sub8 cupra ones if they won’t fit on my FR 1.4

Wheels are standard on the FR Titanium according to the most recent brochure I have.

And it appears they are only available in 18” too.

Does anyone know the actual code reference number for the alloys. I got a number but they are English version so it’s quite hard to source these even just by word description alone
Here’s the foreign one. So English should be similar

Search for Borbet Y alloys and you’ll find them in the UK.

Thanks they didn’t appear to have the machine ones. Just plain coloured. Although I went to seat today and I did ask for these alloys. They didn’t have them on their system (yet). I thought this was a model from 2017. Or at least it was on there online brochures.

The VAG part numbers for the wheels will be the same regardless of country. The dealer or TPS (Trade Parts Specialist - part of VAG) should be able to give you the codes from the latest version of ETKA. Seat>>Leon>>6-Wheels, Brakes>>Aluminium Rim, Hub Cap (18”)

The online versions of ETKA are only up to MY2016 for the Leon, but will be typical of the information that is provided:

I personally would avoid machined / diamond cut alloys - IMO they’re more trouble than they’re worth;
  • They’re susceptible to white worm corrosion and not really durable enough to withstand winter driving and road conditions in the UK - many manufacturers and retailers of alloy wheels specifically state on their websites that diamond cut alloys aren’t suitable for winter use).
  • They’re more expensive to refurbish than a powder coated alloy wheel, and because the diamond cut refurbishment process involves removing a layer of alloy from the wheel, they can usually only be refurbished a maximum of two times, otherwise structural integrity may be compromised.
  • They’re easily damaged by careless tyre fitters and / or poorly maintained tyre fitting equipment.
It’s good that we don’t all like the same things, otherwise life would be boring, but if I was looking for a new set of wheels and I found some that were available with either a machined / diamond cut finish or powder coated finish, I’d always go for the powder coated option.

I’ve heard the same statements about choice of alloys.
And I say I agree. But risking them for aesthetics. My car colour is white and the colour on them is pretty much same colour and it’s plain and I think diamond cut style will give it a more sportier appearance especially one I add spoiler and MAYBE side skirts.
