Is this easy?

The passenger side front regulator appears to have gone on the drive into work this morning.

I'm trying to also lay my hands on the part as everyone I've tried in Stockton-On-Tees, is saying "we use genuine SEAT parts and they have to be ordered from Germany"

Go to the scrap yard and buy a complete panel replacement and save the hassle of the kit. Scrap yard will be £10/20. First time is the worst and will probably take a few hrs

Or buy new cables from ebay for £7 and some butyl sealant (unless you`ve already done the door seals)
It takes next to no time extra to change the cables compared to the whole door carrier

£21 brand new and delivered. I fitted it last month with no problems. I also bought another from them for a Bora, again no problems.

If you have not removed it before, it can be a bit fiddly but there is a guide somewhere. You may need to reseal it too. You can buy the complete panel but tbh if you are taking the panel out it's only 4 rivets extra and the old one is off.

Is it easy? Yes if you follow the guides and take time. The worst part is getting the old sealant/foam cleaned off the carrier to ensure the new seal is good.

That ebay item Homer links to is good as they are the better metal clips and still miles cheaper than original.

Here is the how to:

I got the cables/clips and butyl from ebay. Putting the cables on isn't that easy as there isn't enough slack to get them over the guides. Easier option may be to buy the whole panel off ebay with the cables already fitted. While you have the door card off its worth changing the lock if this hasn't already been done.
