What i did on an older car is put insulation tape around boot and rear seat latches. Did sort it.

Where did you put it in the boot? Between the trim and the body work?

Not yet! I’m resisting taking it to the dealer.

My rattles normal occur when temperatures are below 5c, not sure why.

Is your boot rattle like a tapping noise?

It sounds like something hanging and just knocking against plastic. I thought it was the seatbelts at first tapping as someone else mentioned. But it wasn't, I had a Leon MK2 and that had an annoying vibrating noise that I worked out to be the rear door handles!!

Why can't they just make a car with no noises or rattles?

Before this I had a 2005 Civic Type R, it didn't have any noises!!!

I've tried insulation tape on the boot catch, and it made no difference. Gave my back seats a shake and they are solid, there's no play in them so I don't think it's those?? Looks like this must be a common fault as me and Luke both have the same issue!!

Worth a try. Probably a loose cable flapping between panels...which u will never find!

Wow! That looks nasty. Hopefully you and anyone else that was in the car are OK and no one was badly injured; a car can be repaired or replaced. Looks as if the airbags deployed, as you would hope they would in that sort of impact.

Although there’s extensive damage and I would guess your car’s a write off, the passenger cell looks as if it stood up remarkably well to the impact.

Oh my god!

Hope you are okay dude.

I've fixed my rattle (I think) but this puts it all into perspective!

Pretty much all air bags deployed...I think. My passenger reckons there were some in the footwell that went off?

Needless to say I’m in a lot of pain, fractured my sternum.

Just want to know what happens next, but being the weekend I’m not getting anywhere fast.

They are the new hazards. Mine came on automatically in my collision, but as it is pre facelift the whole cluster didn't light up like Luke's.

I know the DRL/sidelights are also indicators, which on a sidenote look awesome, just surprised they were still functioning!

Hope you and any others involved are going to be alright! Nasty crash but car has stood up to the challenge under a 60mph crash. Just puts into perspective how safe cars are these days!

I have a rattle on my 67 plate on the driver doorcard but nothing major so not bothering to get it looked at as they will probably make it worse.

A rattle from the boot area is exactly what I was experiencing for weeks and the cause of mine was the rear seat seatbelts. When I have had passengers in they have obviously used the seatbelts but not placed them back in the plastic holder thing (have no clue what you call it). So when they arent in the belt moves as you drive and rattles off the plastic however, when its seated in the plastic holder the rattle stops.

Scott, judging by your pic we have literally the exact same car and the same problem lol. My car is identical to yours and i have that stupid rattle. Mines coming from the passenger side door beside the B pillar. Did you ever get yours fixed?
