Adaptation problems

Hey everyone,

Looking for some help, I recently attempted to try an adaptation on my 2016 leon, which would allow me to activate the reverse mirror dip when reverse is selected. I am a complete novice at using the software and changed hex 04 to bits 2 & 3 on instead of byte 4 bits 2 & 3, after reseting my car I've now found that I have 2 faults shown, one in 09 central electrics - anti theft alarm system sensor stage 1 and 52 door electronics passenger side - motor for window regulator (no basic setting)

Since locking the car I have found that I can no longer hold lock to rotate my mirrors

I have changed the bits back to previous settings and still no change.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This is the adaptation I was following:

Lower rear view mirror right when reversing
With this mod, the reverse gear selector and mirrors in R, the lower right mirror to the stored position.
1 - Module 52 - passenger door Electronics
2 - Extended coding (Mode Bytes)
3 - Byte 04
4 - Enable Bits 2 and 3
5 - Coding extended (Text mode)
6 - Select - Position memory With rear gear
7 - Change value to On
8 - Module 09 - Electronic. Code (31347)
9 - Adaptation
10 - Select - Control Access 2
11 - Sub - Menuesteuerung Spiegelabsenkung (On)
12 - Sub - Spiegelabsenkung bei Rueckwaertsfahrt (On)
Easier still:
1 - Applications
2 - Mirror dip
3 - Activate

Can you put up a copy of your history file so we can see what you changed.

Did you use OBD11 or VCDS, if you used OBD11 did you code the change or use the app.

Hi mate,

I used OBD11 long coding within the app, this is the history from today:

Just a quick update, I managed to solve the alarm fault by doing a hard reset, unfortunately it didn't solve my window regulator fault.

I've copied the old coding back to original but no such luck, I did however find on hex 04 window motor type is shown as varient 5, previously it was only shown as 3 dots...?

Hopefully I can work it out and learn a bit more about the system :)

I am sure that mirror tilt does not need coding, it's a selectable option in the settings menu. it only works on the mirror opposite to the drivers mirror and must have the mirror control knob in the correct position.

Mirror tilt in reverse on my 2014 car needed to be coded,
You can use the long coding or just use the app (with the free credits you get each day)

But I think Walone is correct in that the control knob has to be in the correct position.

In your coding today you have shown you started to do Mirror Fold and Close with one click but have then reverted it, if it has not worked have you tried doing a factory reset in the Cars Settings menu.

And you Long Coding you have reverted it back to how it was, If you go to basic settings you will find the following (well its whats on my car)

Basic Settings

Adapt front window regulator, frt.pass. side
Adapt rear window regulator, frt.pass.side
Front window regulator, frt.pass. side, reset adaptation
Rear window regulator, front passenger side
Rear window regulator,frt.pass. side, reset adaptation
Recognition of motor variant for window regul.
Reset standardization, front window regulator, frt.pass side
Reset standardization, rear window regulator, frt.pass. side
Test sequence for central locking
Window regulator front passenger side.

i suspect that one of these will resolve the problem but I have not had it so cant confirm which one.

I noticed it was in the app section, then I realised that it was for the left mirror only, long coding suggested right mirror which I thought might have been more useful.

Is the reset function found within the app or on the car screen?

Thanks for all your help!

Yes the code is designed for passenger side only, not seen any coding to allow it to work on both sides or drivers side.

The Factory Reset function is found in your cars info unit under Car, Settings and go to the bottom and you will see factory reset, which shows something like All, Windows etc etc. I always use All as its easier.

Basic Settings are found on OBD11 Menu under adaptions and a few others.

Hi oldboy

All the basic settings are shown in the app that you posted, but they are all set to not active, should they all be active?

Factory reset hasn't solved the issue I am having :thumbd:

Alarms now cleared, had to reset basic settings for window regulator front passenger side, - soft adaptation option!

I am still unable to fold my mirrors by holding the lock button, but I'm sure I could live with that! Thanks for help chaps, much appreciated :rocker:

Solved the problem! After finding out that the rear LHS passenger window wouldn't go down by using the one click method I had to reset the window using the basic settings!

All faults cleared and wing mirrors now folding :1st:
