Hi All,

Hope all is well, am doing my cam cover gasket tomorrow on Leon Mk1 05 Cupra R and wondered should i be using sealant top and bottom of the gasket all the around or just on the side bits. Issue I find is eventually it always leaks down the back no matter what.

What have other people been doing and what results are you seeing?

Thanks

I did my diesel and they only sold the cam cover and gasket together at about £150 at the time, I ended up getting the gasket from ECP or GSF for around £11 and gasket seal for £7. I went all the way round on mine with a small line of sealer and it still doesn't leak after 5 years. I didn't have a technical torque wrench so had to guess at what 10 pounds of torque on the bolts was. I went round them 4 times in the order shown from elsawin, tightening each up slightly until I gauged that they were all about 10 pounds of torque
