Lazy starting even after new battery

Hi all,

Had a new battery fitted recently after a starting issue and everything was OK but now the starting seems a bit 'lazy' not very sprightly.

Checked to see if the alternator is putting charge into the battery when it's ticking over and it is

Car does long daily runs, 42 miles each way to and from work so having ample time to recharge

Any ideas?

How much charge is it putting in and at what volts, could be the starter motor on its way out. Check all the connections carefully. You may need to undo the earths , clean and redo.

Brilliant, thanks.

I'll have a look at that.
Do you know what charge it should be putting in ideally just to make sure it's doing what it should.

Are you on the original starter motor? If cleaning the connections doesn't sort it then it might be on it's way out.

Thanks It might be, I have lots of history with it but never noticed anything about a starter motor I've done 100k in it since I've had it, 5 years, and it's on 181k now so more than likely will end up being the starter motor possibly
