I'd really to know the logic behind all this. Especially the brake calipers.

I can see two possible reasons for this:

The Golf R callipers are also black, so sharing parts from across the VAG parts bin - just a plate change for the model identifier.

All the future Cupra cars will use a common colour scheme for the new branding.

Think he is referring to the R, as the GTi in standard trim has smaller brakes. However in Performance Pack, Clubsport and Clubsport S trim they’re the same size.

However the R can have painted Silver callipers when it’s got its own Performance Pack fitted.

So who knows that the thinking is beyond not wanting to clash with copper wheels.

It’s a shame that they can’t offer black or red depending on the body colour. The red works well against my black car. On a white car along with the mirror caps, wheels etc the black callipers would look good.

No just new models. It might change with a software update if Seat wants all cars to have it.

I was under the impression that the Golf GTI is not currently in production and is a victim of WLTP/imminent new model introduction - the Mk8 is due in 2019, and VW couldn't justify putting it through WLTP.

But, yes the other colours are also available on the Octavia VRS etc. In that case, it would probably be a new 'brand' colour choice that has been adopted.

I feel you're letting a practical solution get in the way of a good moan about the new colour scheme

Looking at new 290 models i see they have different view style in the cockpit, does anyone know if software in my virtual cockpit from my18 cupra 300 can be updated to match the 290 one?

I discovered yesterday that it’s a revised part number for the new digital cockpit

Surely though you could re coupe some costs by selling your one? Pretty sure someone with an fr would buy it? And seeing as yours is low mileage currently would be best time to sell it. Seeing as you can’t role back the miles apprently.

Yeah that makes more sense. Find it strange they never added it to the r seeing as it’s meant to be fully specd

Maybe they expect it to go wrong in the future which will devalue the r ‍

I'm returning to the Cupra fold after only 8 months away! I have successfully rejected an faulty Ateca so I had a clean sheet to start with.

After some research (Golf R/GTi, S3 and even the i30!) I've decided to return!

Anyways, as we all know, the Cupra has the most bang for the buck!

As the car I've ordered has the digital dash I was wondering if any of you guys could help me out.

Does the Sat-Nav function within the digital dash support Google maps or Waze when connected via Android Auto?

The standard version certainly doesn’t. On my iPhone, the central screen shows the map, and my phone shows the directions. Digital Cockpit just shows ‘CarPlay navigation in use’ if you set it to a destination. If you’re just using Waze (or google maps or whatever) for the map to view as you drive around, then you can display the cars own sat nav map on the digital cockpit. But it disappears soon as you set a destination.
