Boost issues, trying to cure... Pancake hose

Hi all. Having decided to spare my Leon from the grave by spending a bit of dosh on it (probably more than it's worth to be honest) I find I need to replace the pancake pipe at the front.

I see there are plenty of posts about this thing breaking the naff vw connections and leaking, what I'm after is a more permanent solution as I'm fed up feeding the VW group cash for pipes that blow off because their tangs don't last two minutes.

With that in mind does anyone have the measurements for the top and bottom diameter of the pancake hose, and the pipes that fit onto it? Plan is silicone hose, hefty hose clamps and seeing how I get on. If worst comes to the worst I'd rather save some dosh and go see Darkside Developments/SFS/Allard for a more sturdy solution rather than buy new pipes and wait till they pop off with a bang again.

Thanks for any help.

Cheers, Paul

Can’t remember the sizes but I bought a petrol version and modded to fit my diesel - used silicon hoses + hose adapters (ASH for hoses and Darkside for the adapters and clamps)

I tried cable ties and that failed within days, so I drilled mine and put self taping screws either side of the hose, weirdly my pancake pipe was the last pipe to blow off. If you do drill make sure you clear any metal fillings/residue out of the pipes.
