Hi all

just inherited my other halfs mk1 cupra 180bhp 2003

Acceleration is quite flat, not seeming like 180bhp. Is there anything that should be looked at, maybe coilpack etc or possibly the MAF sensor? Average fuel economy is 38mpg at a steady 60mph. Car has full service history and 113k miles.

Thanks for any suggestions

Hi mate. The MAF will usually throw a fault code and illuminate the traction control light. A coil pack you would almost certainly notice, as it will misfire and you will get a flashing engine management light. By far the best thing to do is get it scanned for codes, preferably with VCDS. In terms iof things to check, IMO the first thing would probably be the diverter valve, make sure the diaphram isn't broken. If it is then you will be losing boost.

Probably dislodged turbo hose, they can blow out slightly so there is a slight pressure leak.
