anybody know the current lead time on a cupra 290 lux ?
I was quoted 14-16 weeks on a factory build (non Lux).
So I went with a "stock" car which was £30pm cheaper. It's not really in stock but been ordered prior to now so could only choose from 4 colours.

Had a brief look at my Cupra this evening.
It was obviously dark and it hadn't had the side skirts fitted or gone through PDI.

- illuminated "Cupra" Sill plates looked good
-Digital cockpit looked nice (although it seemed really small

)
-Beats Audio sub sounded decent

@AlexOS it had the new infotainment startup & the legacy Cupra badge on the DSG base plate

Looked decent still not 100% sure on the copper.
Dealership said that I can have the original standard black center caps if I want.

Started her up but it was still in transport mode. Still sounded better than my 280

Nice I’ve just ordered in the same colour with sun
Should look great when they put the skirts on.. I’m waiting for the date to drop mine off to get them put on.

Nice car! I've just ordered the Cupra 290 but was unaware the Beats sound system was even available as an option in the UK.
Was this stereo system standard with your Cupra?

@RZ46

Mine was originally a MY18 order so had a number of options spec'd that are no longer available on the standard MY19 CUPRA.

SEAT announced that MY18 orders that were to be built as MY19 when the factory reopened would retain all spec'd options where possible.

One of my options was SEAT Sound (SS). Unfortunately SEAT discontinued SS before my car got built, so they replaced SS with Beats Audio at no extra cost.

I expect it would have been the same for others too.

Thanks I wasn’t holding out much hope. Very nice to have! You’d think In a range topping car Seat should have made this standard kit if it can’t be speced. I’ve had the ss for the last 4 years but I’ve heard the standard setup is still okay.

Hopefully I will find out tomorrow if I got the MY18 options I ordered...

(It should be with me before 9am)
I'm sure you'll be fine mate.

They were able to add the lot for me including the reverse camera.

From this forum I'm only aware of a single case where SEAT couldn't honour the options.
That was due the replacement Beats Audio amp conflicting with the electric SEAT.

That situation seemed to be resolved favourably for the customer too.

Anyway good luck this morning mate.

Who was that with and what did they quote you?

It's a shame but it seems to be consistent across the VAG group.

Dynaudio is an option on the R
B&O is an option on the S3

The standard system just seems to lack bass for me. I imagine you'll notice coming from SS.

I have the standard setup on my current car. It's definitely not bad, in fact it's pretty good.

It wasn't until I tried the B&O in the S3 that I realised how much better things could be (although that's a 705w 14 speaker system).

True, I’m not letting that take the shine away though it’s just a minor nuisance. There were others I looked at that came standard with a premium ss but I’ve been waiting a long time for a Cupra & can’t wait. Added the sunroof which thankfully they kept as an option ,I was undecided on side bladed or side skirts but sure I’ll be going for the skirts. I’ve been given build week 3 2019.

The sunroof looked good against the white.
It does wonders for the gloomy cabin too.

Had the same dilemma regarding the blades and full skirts. On the 5dr I decided that the full skirts gave the better overall effect from all angles, even though I like the black cap on the blades.
