Afternoon everyone,

Hope we're all well.

I take delivery of a black Leaon Cupra Lux tomorrow, can't wait! It's my first lease car, thought I'd finally bite the bullet as it were. Brand new, Lux in black for £236 per month and £2200 down over 24 months and 8k pa mileage, thought this was a great deal so snapped it up.

I've had a new S3 and Mk 7 GTI before so looking forward to this front wheel drive beast arriving with lots of power and having the diff. I'm usually a bit of a badge snob but I just think what a car for this kind of money.

My only little concern is that I usually upgrade the sound system (B&O and Dynaudio respectively) in my last cars and am assuming the Leon will just be standard. Any ideas on what the standard sound system is like? I mean, I'd normally cut open the parcel shelf and whack in my 6x9's but being a lease car.... he he, joke!

Look forward to being on this site.

Cheers guys,

Russ

I know Seat have recently removed the option for Seat sound/ Beats audio, but i've seen a couple of guys on here sayimg the standard speakers aren't actually to bad, each to their own I suppose! Be sure to post some pictures once you've collected it, mine arrives in Feb, can't wait -.- haha.

I also came from a MK7 (pre-facelift) Golf GTI. That had the standard sound system as well and I don't think I'm imagining that the standard sound system in the latest Cupra is better. It seems to have more power, better bass and more clarity. Whether that's just down to better sound insulation in the facelift cars, I'm not sure... but I'm more than happy with it.

Great choice. Hope you manage to post some pics.

I would be interested in your experience not only with the lease process but the car in the first few weeks? I am considering my first lease and picking a Cupra. That price is very good for the Lux version

Did you pick the car up or did a driver on behalf of the lease company deliver it to you?

Thanks guys, I'll let you know my thoughts. I am very excited I have to say. I've just sold my 2012 BMW M135i, it was starting to get expensive to run so I thought sod it, lease for me and it takes the worry out of a high performance car.

Hi Chris, the guy has text me today saying he'll be dropping the car off at my house tomorrow lunch time so sounds great. I used SelectCar leasing and so far they have been 10/10. They had very high reviews from trustpilot etc so I felt I was in good hands. I just saw that offer and though, sod it, I've been urming and erring for so long about a new bloody car and just went for it.

That's great to hear Russ about your leasing choice. I was looking at them too as a colleague at work leased a GTI (Performance) 68 plate from them and said he had a good experience

The Cupra does seem a good choice as the deals are attractive at the moment

I need around 12k mileage on any deal I do

Look forward to hearing about the car

Welcome. Had the Dynaudio on my recently sold Scirocco and having used to it all these years, I must say that to my ears, current Seat’s standard sound system is a significant downgrade. However, it’s not bad and can live with it for a couple of weeks, awaiting recommendations from owners who have installed aftermarket sound systems. Waiting for photos. Cheers.

I've leased my last 4 cars and never had an issue, I got a Leon cupra 290 Black edition with freedom contracts 2 years ago for 2400 deposit 131 a month, and it was fault less, that has just gone back and I've now got an audi s4 saloon direct from audi for 3000 deposit 280 a month and that's with about 40 a month in options on it

Anyone who knows speakers will know that there not great in the cupra but if your not an expert in speakers then there fine, I've added a aftermarket vibe black air vented v12 1600w subwoofer to the original head unit because the bass wasn't good enough lol.
I have a mk3 cupra 290 2016 and I bought mine rather then lease because I have changed engine parts and had it tuned so rather then 290hp I have 370hp it's so much fun to drive lol if you know how to drive a cupra.

It's arrived! Nothing like that new car smell.

I've only driven a few miles so far, lots of driving coming up over the next week. Very impressed so far, the speakers are better than expected I think, looking forward to getting to know it.
