Hi, I'd try reposting in the Leon MK3 section as more MK3 owners will see it and hopefully be able to give you the answer.

The owners manual states that individual bulbs cannot be replaced in LED headlight units, but there are control modules fitted to the rear of the headlamp assembly.

Recently my my drls would go off when I selected Parking Mode. First the dealer changed both drl control modules with no success (as if two modules working independently of each other would fail at the same time.) Then they changed what they described as the Body Control Module and that fixed it. There is another control module called the Output Module and that may be the problem.

@EFF11 you are correct but it does depend on how old the car is.

On my 2014 Cupra i seem to recall the lights are LED but the Indicator Bulb is not LED (or it may have been the rears cant recall).

@Walshy32 if you don't have a manual for your year / car check here https://www.seat.com/owners/your-seat/manuals-offline.html and hopefully it will show you if you are LED or not and also how to replace the bulb (which looks like a real pain so might be worth paying Halfords or somebody to fit it for you.

I'm pretty sure the front indicators are LED too, the whole unit is LED as far as I was aware. On my car they flash on and off like an LED would.

The rears aren't on the pre facelift but are simple to change over

@Blowski you are right, just took my own advise and checked the manual

For Halogen headlights the indicator bulb is replacable on Full LED's its only the Rears that are not LED.

Thanks for your help , I’ve had the car to a seat/vw specialist he’s had it on the computer and double checked both output modules are working fine , the LED unit in the headlight has gone by his reckoning , contacted SEAT and they wanted £1000 for a new headlamp unit . I’m contacting scapyards around me to see if I can get one off them , fingers crossed

So much for the statement in the owners manual that they expect the led lights to last the lifetime of the car !!!!!!!!

DEANO has a point. Email Seat customer relations department and ask what they think about an LED headlight failing in a 4 year old car. Regardless of any legal rights, it clearly does not meet their specification. Press them for a replacement or, at least, a significant contribution toward the cost of the replacement. Do it writing - not on the phone.
In any negotiations never accept first refusal (nor the second refusal) !

No, even the pre-facelift has a LED front indicator if it has the LED headlights. It's the rear which isn't LED on any pre-facelift.

No, you have a standard bulb. I have same lights and there is a bulb if you have a look through the triangle window

It's an LED bulb isn't it? And I thought the lights were "sealed" units so you can't just go in and change them...

Wrong. 2014 FR here with LED headlights, and it has LED front indicators. There are no models with LED headlights but halogen indicator bulbs.

Which headlight is it? I bought a brand new drivers side headlight which I didn’t even need (long story, see my other post for details) which was in my car for 2 days then swapped back out again. If you absolutely need to replace yours, let me know. It’ll be a hell of a lot less than £1000!!!
