Between an egg cup and half a cup , this time it seems to be right between the clutch and brake pedals.

1. Scrap it , man up take the hit and be done with it - but I need money to replace it
2. Try and sell it but for how much - but I still need money to replace it
3. Accept that will always leak, just leave the carpets out
4. Persevere throw money at it in the hope that I might get lucky

what would YOU do, sensible and practical answers will be entertained.

I assume clasically for our cars, water.

It sucks! I've seen your other thread on it and I feel your pain. Switch to rubber mats? Not sure what I'd do TBH. Put loads of tape everywhere and try and track it back to where it's coming in?

I got worried when he said between the brake and clutch pedal

Usuall its the passenger footwell due to the pollen filter seal

For what it's worth, I've been trying to track down a clunk in the passenger side of my leon for about a fortnight now. Not all the time, sometimes when I turn, sometimes when I go over bumps. I checked the glove box twice to make sure there was nothing in it. I resigned myself to the fact until today when I realised, the mrs has only been in this car once and left a tub of lip gloss in the frickin door pocket!!

Could be the windscreen seal? Has it been replaced recently?
Have you tried laying kitchen towel against the firewall up behind then pedals as high as you can go and then use a jet wash or hose over the roof windscreen and scuttle. The water should show its path on the kitchen towel so you can see the general area.

Have you also checked under the plastic scuttle panel on the drivers side where the loom goes through a plastic panel? That may be leaking.

Windscreen original fitment, no will try kitchen towel when it warms up a bit. I have literally 5 layers of super sticky butyl rubber around that box , next i'm gonna silicon the fcuk out of it.

@Gokiwi64 afraid you came up in conversation today.

Was walking the dogs and saw a very nice Jag E Type, got talking to the owner and one thing led to another and he was complaining about not having enough time to enjoy the car as he spent to much time fixing it.

I told him of your issues and he said "Jag is the same, it was a British sports car so it was built to leak and rust" you know it already but you are not alone.

Fortunately or Unfortunately he/she/it/devils spawn is not for sale , swmbo has stated that "we" will get it fixed. For "we" read me and it must cost nothing as you just bought another car for the "winter months" .........

Footnote - My youngest who is just learning to drive has been out in the fiesta a couple of times and loves it , shes said she will buy it off me when the time comes.

Just bite the bullet and admit defeat :

Take out all the carpets, drill drain holes in the floor and use it as a track car.
