Hi all,

I tried posting this in the servicing forum but it appears to be deader than disco. As above, I'm looking for a decent independent garage in Newcastle upon Tyne to service my 15 plate Leon 1.2 TSI to Seat specs and stamp the book and not to take my eyes out.

Thanks in advance

Not too sure about the toon, but if you fancy a drive south VASSTech (VAG specialists) in Darlington or Teesside are worth a look.

Had my Octavia VRS serviced there this week and the customer service has been superb; car running really well too.

Not a vag specialist but can vouch for Autofix in Washington. Me and my family have had our cars services to manufacture spec there for years and made successful warranty claims.
Tracey the service manager is spot on

My old man works at Wheelers in Seaton Burn. They specialise in MOT's and Services and only ever use genuine parts. They wouldn't have your eyes out at all, very transparent and a great bunch of lads.

I have heard that http://csmotorengineering.co.uk are quite good based near Benton asda. Never used them myself but have heard they are good and reasonable. If you do find somewhere good please post as I'll be looking early next year for myself.

thanks, that came up in a Google search, certainly good distance wise, will see how they look and what sort of price they come up with

I went to cs motor engineering, £90 all in for a minor service. Can't fault them really, they could have done me for discs and pads, but said call back in about 2000 miles and they'll check them again. Car has run well since the service, but it was running fine before. I'll certainly use them again

I'll give them a call when it's due was about £230 from seat and I just don't trust them. Would do it myself but want a stamp in the book
I took mine to my local seat dealer to have a problem looked at and sorted, they took the car round the back whilst I sat and waited for an hour, When i got the car back I was told it was sorted. I asked for the paper work and turns out 'they do things differently now' which I knew was a lie, anyway after arguing for so long and speaking to managers in high places I found out my car was took round the back and sat for an hour, not one thing done to it, I was lied to completely and have no trust in them at all now. (SG Petch, Durham).

That's troubling, I'd heard SG Perch were better than Arnold Shark

Well I did mine last Nov, coming out, the engine mpg was poorer (on the trip computer, but reality nah) but it seemed to be a bit smoother / quieter, so I guess they changed the oil, plus they could also tell me exactly which oil went in..
