Whats it like if you do a long journey as that does seem a little on the low side unless you are using it like it should be

On a long trip i see 35/36mpg. That's just driving normally, i'm sure if i tried i could get more!

I've got the 4drive version, and I think the additional load of the drive to the rear diff might make increase the mpg. My understanding is whilst the diff is not always engaged, the drive shaft is always spinning.
34 MPG is the best I've got going full eco mode, light right foot, and strict adherence to speed limits.

Low consumptions are possible, but you really need to babyfoot it and have ideal conditions, etc.

These are my figures at the end of one day in one of the stints in the Norway road trip:

Z2RX7ws.jpg

There was no traffic, flat roads, low speed limits, etc, etc....

That is 44mpg on a 4drive, btw.

Impressive. How many miles/km have you done in the car to date?

my 4drive (6speed) averages 28mpg a tank. That's with a 13 mile commute on country lanes/flowing A roads.
My 4drive DSG gives about the same on my 20 miles each way commute. Sometimes up to 32mpg. No complaints from me given the performance!

I’m trying to stick with petrol. Currently drive a Focus ST estate which I’m quite fond of.

Came from a BMW 120d before that, the build quality was awful so that’s put me off BMW.

I suppose if I was to make a list it would be;
Leon Cupra ST
Golf R estate - this was my initial preference until I came across the Cupra
BMW 330d tourer
Volvo V60 R design T5
Skoda Octavia VRS
Audi A4

I was quite tempted by an Arteon R the other day though when I went to VW to look at the golf!

Middle of the road in terms of models but on the performance side of estates ideally.
I'd have looked at the Focus ST Estate if it had been 4wd!
Cupra is nicer looking than the Golf R, and less obviously a high performer - a proper sleeper.
Shame Skoda isn't 4wd.

I'm a year now into a 4 year PCP and am already wondering what I'd go for when change time comes - the Cupra Ateca is interesting, possibly, but 3 years is a long time so who knows what's around the corner!

One car that would be intersting (if ever developed) is the Seat 20V20. I know its a concept right now, but it certainly has the looks!

Well I’ve taken the plunge and ordered it today

Cupra ST 300 Lux in midnight black and panoramic roof

Just can’t take delivery until June which is a bit of a killer

Now to start thinking about changing the exhaust and rear diffuser!

Diffuser is easy, Reigar. Get the splitter while your at it ;)

Exhaust, well there should be more options by June as the manufacturers make them for the new GPF/PPF cars.

Yeah the rieger one looks great. Used to have a rieger on my Bmw 135.

I nearly ordered a magnetic grey car after seeing yours, until I read a comment of yours in another thread a few days ago if you saying it’s the worst colour!

Went from a manual 280 ST to a 300 ST with DSG. My next car will probably be a fast estate, as like the concept of speed married to practicality. It may not be a Seat, but the cupra ticks all the boxes. Only the R compares, but I don't like the styling (squashed van!). We have a dog and can get him and weekend bags in the boot without loading up the back seats. With the seats down I can get my road bike in with the front wheel off. The only thing that does disappoint with the 300 is the MPG. Not too bothered, as I'm sure it'll improve as the miles go on, plus I lift share most of the time. How on earth can Seat claim 39 MPG is a mystery to me! Significant tail wind on test day! I know shouldn't have bought one if I was worried about MPG.

Nice one. I didn't think the panoramic sunroof was still an option.

I think it’s the only option left after colour on the Lux.

Stupid cost too, on the monthlies it costs about 15% of the total car cost. Nice to have though, kids will enjoy it in the back

Mines not magnetic grey, it’s monsoon grey. And it’s theveirst colour as grey is bbbbbooooorrrriiinnnggggg. Lol

So it’s not bad in anyway if it’s finish or anything, I just think my white one was a nicer colour. Haha.

Anyway irrelevant as magnetic grey is different. If I’m honest it looks more grey, where mine has a hint of blue to it (confirmed by photoshop lol)

I went to IMG Seat in Warrington today to have a look at the colours and I thought the black looked best. I didn't want black I wanted blue or grey but it didnt do it for me :(

Yeah my kids love it and it really helps lighten up what is quite a dark cabin.

Haven't seen anybody getting the Mediterranean Blue...I presume this is still an option?

Don’t bother. Its an awful colour in the flesh. I had an Ibiza FR in it. Looked great on the configurator and the little sample they have in the showroom. Disappointed as soon as i saw it when i picked it up. It didn’t last long at all as i couldn’t stand it.

Now Desire Red, thats a different matter altogether!!
