SW update for MIB2 infotainment system?

No its definitely a mib2 standard nav, because my car is a 2017 leon fr.

Ive downloaded the euro1 map, will give it a shot since forums say some ppl have successfully updated their maps

The 5F places it as Mib1.

Back up your SD card before you do anything. Mib1 people haven't been successful at map updates if they haven't got Mapcare. Firmware frig allows it but on the other thread a guy was running a business out of it so he never told anybody how to do it themselves.

Which is why I was wondering why the other person said great unless he used the MIB2 workaround as per the navigation thread and as I said the Seat link doesn't show the final release so it's not a good link . You can find some early conversation on that thread of your Mib1 map release, I did a scan on the serial number and found a conversation from way back when.

Anyhow, navigation software rather than firmware conversation should be on there.

That settles that then. You're are still best to use the link I gave you than the Seat one. The VW link. Basically Vag map preparation decided it wasnt going to fit on one SD card so put Europe into five parts, but then managed to do it by popular request and did a re-release. Seat hasn't caught up with that yet. If you wish to keep Europe as all of Europe on the standard system then you pick the new 13gb bundle.

I could diss the mib2 standard against the mib2 high now I have access to both. The problem appears that the road speeds are missing on some types of roads as has been noted so the routing algorithm takes you down silly roads as being the quickest. You don't get those speeds on single track roads where I now live. Pick the red route on both systems and the high puts you on the main road to town, the standard takes you on roads you don't really want to be on if you like your paint work.

Would the software update change it to the tiles?

Yeah I followed the Spanish thread and it went as expected . The firmware took fine and the unit worked. I needed to use obd11 to change some values to remove error codes which was all documented in the Spanish thread. Have you got access to obd11 or similar?

I gave up trying to fully update the mib2 high maps as Walone knows after 17 months of trying. The developers menu via SWDL without Mapcare allows you to update voice, eggnog etc but not the Navdb directory which is the map file directory and released POIs........... I tried.

Mib2 High uses the same map upload as Mib1 High so it's been well researched since Mib1 High was released. Going retrofit with your unit is the only way... threw the towel in and followed Walones route of getting you unit turned into a retrofit so you can enjoy all the benefits of a retrofit .

It seems this is what I am faced with, a no go for my unit to be updated for maps (these threads are over lapping now)

Yes updates are available, I updated mine from 0319 to 1219, had to do it in 4 stages as you can't directly update from 0319 to 1219. Not sure if there are any updates to do between your 0123 and 0319 though. The hardware number (H41) is fixed and can't be changed I think.
