My guess will be AC have their own breakdown, recovery, warranty and hire car schemes and they want to force AC customers into using them. They want to keep everything in-house to maximize profit.
I unfortunately recently had to use the SEAT roadside assistance cover that I got from a SEAT dealer (non AC) last year. My Leon cut out and left me stranded at the side of the M8.
I was recovered by the AA, and 2 hours later had a rental car from Enterprise delivered to my door paid for by VW financial services. The nearest dealer unfortunately was AC. If my Leon had still been under warranty for the repairs then AC wouldn’t have made a penny out of me.
I really try to avoid using AC but unfortunately they are everywhere.
When I had my
Ibiza, I made a claim to AC, as my local SEAT dealer, under the SEAT extended manufacturer’s warranty my car came with. They tried to get out of it saying they didn’t recognize the warranty scheme.
