It's all about driving style, at the end of the day if you like manual, buy a manual especially if it has all the options you want. You can easily upgrade clutches in these cars, yes it's an extra expense but factor that into any buy and it's fine.

Mine worked well on stock setup for 50k miles. Then started slipping a little.
Died on stage 2. Was kevlar reinforced and now does fine on 470hp set up.
If you plan to tune it go for dsg. Manual is weak and with hardcore clutch not really comfortable.
Also dsg is a lot faster than manual.

My Cupra280 has done 60k and 10k of those km are stage 2 385bhp 501nm upgrading my clutch this Friday due to looking to go stage 3 in the coming months but no issues for me depends how you drive and how it's been driven previously
