Hi all,

I live in Kent and I'm looking to get my car tuned. I've found some candidates but I'm finding it hard to decide which is best. So this thread is just a bit of fishing to see if anyone has used these garages or has opinions.

These are the garages I've found so far:
  1. JF Automotive
  2. AmD Tuning
  3. TC Garage

TC is a VAG specialist and offers REVO remaps whereas the others seem to be general and do custom remaps.

JF and AmD tuning seem to be cheaper and AmD have a half price remap offer (when buying an exhaust).

JF and AmD are both closer, which might be handy if anything goes wrong or I want to get more upgrades at a later date?

JF and AmD both have a rolling road / dyno, I don't think TC has. It would be nice to know the actual gains, so I could always just get this done at JF / AmD after tuning at TC, but that is extra faff.

All three seem to have good reviews from the sites and forums I've found (JF seems to have some less favourable reviews ~6 years ago but all newer ones seem good).

I have never tuned a car before and have basically zero mechanical knowledge, so if there are any questions (and what would be a good answer!) people would recommend I put to the garages please let me know.

Thanks!

Depending on where you are in Kent and how willing you’re to travel. KAP in Folkestone do tuning and have a rolling road.

I played the dyno lottery with them and was impressed with their set up. I think they use ecu maps from various companies and then fine tune them on the day to suit your car.

Obviously there are pro’s and cons of this but they are a reputable dealership so you would have some recourse if you wasn’t happy.
