passenger sidelight replace bulb

do you need to take battery off. can not get my hand near to bulb to get it out.
changed drivers side bulb no problem.
I need help !!!!!

I've not got a TDI car, but I think that the answer is probably YES, it would certainly stop you getting a cut to bits hands, that is if you can get anywhere near it!

Thanks for info, somebody told me to unscrew headlamp and move it, instead of removing battery.
