I was under the (probably mistaken) impression there weren't many remaps available yet as they had to factor the GPF into the maps. I had a look a wee while back and none of the majors (Revo, APR) seem to have a map available yet but you can get a dtuk box

Probably. They tend to throw less hp than a remap but loads of torque.

Stock cars will all read 300-310bhp but this dyno is obviously over reading or ran in complete wrong gear.

just like to say that there is no way on gods earth them figures are correct mine is stage 1 making 355 bhp and 384 in torque they simply don`t make them figures on stock as a lot of people say it`s a dyno lottery out there.
best regards

Isn't the figure of '290' the minimum you are suppose to get on say basic 95RON petrol from a supermarket? However if you put one of the better fuels (Momentum 99/Vpower/Esso Supreme etc), you may get well in excess of the 300 mark. I believe 5th gear did a test on a Impreza, on the supermaket fuel it outputted around 240, on Vpower it outputed just shy of 260. Either that or those numbers are just for show and not to step on the toes of VW/Audi, even though, if you lift the Seat badge...tada! VW badge underneath!

I've only been running mine on Shell V-power, £1.40/litre in Inverness but worth every penny by the looks of it :roflmao:

£1.45 here in the midlands at the moment. Ironically I was just looking at Google maps for shell stations in Scotland. It appears to be Glasgow and the next one is Inverness! I'd just about make it between the two in my Cupra!

No 290PS (so 285hp) is if run on 98. Higher than 98 is pointless as the car isn’t tuned for it.

On 95 the car will run but pull the timing, and likely throw extra fuel in to help prevent pre ignition (extra fuel cools it down). Both of which will reduce power.

Just look at those in Ireland who go for a stage 1 remap and the figures they get as they can’t get anything better than 95.

Think there's a couple Shell stations in-between Gtown and Inver-snecky but I'm surprised the petrols cheaper up North. I put 44 litres in the car today for about £61, red light was on after only 273 miles. Changed days from 600 to the tank in an fr184:headhurt:

Yesterday I walked past the tesco supermarket and filling station...saw an Audi S3, BMW M2, and Merc C63 AMG at the same time filling up...must be filling up with Tesco's finest..aka Momentum 99..

Everyone literally queues up at my local for it,but at £1.30 a litre you can understand why, virtually the same price as the 95 from my local esso.it makes a noticeable difference to the power and fuel consumption compared to the Esso premium which I sometimes but rarely put that in if I have to.

I wonder why they chose 98 for UK markets (assuming it's (95)/98 on the flap?) when 98 isn't available in the UK. It's either 95, 97 (Esso/BP/Texaco/Sainsbury) or 99 (V power / Momentum). Strangely on my Volvo V40 it doesn't say anything, but in the manual it states 95-98 RON. For hot weather, and maximum performance and economy use 98, else for regular driving use 95.

Higher RON is fine, the engine just isn't able to take advantage of the higher octane.

Be interesting to see if a decent octane booster allow it to run at full power on 95 RON. Good quality ones like Millers should actually increase the octane and would cheaper per tank than from the pump 97/98 RON fuel.

I've given up at the moment. I read an article about octane boosters misleading saying they up the octane eg 3 points. But what it actually means is 0.3 points. I'm looking out for one that can really turn 95 into 99 so I can shove it in the boot for holiday driving when the nearest shell station is 50 miles away!

Good ones should work though, the main ingredient in them is the same as the octane booster used in fuels already, and is concentrated enough to actually boost. Some cheap ones are just mostly paraffin or actually petrol with little of the useful ingredients.

Found a baseline pull from a 300 4drive GPF equipped car in Sweden. It made 311hp and 397nm (engine power)

Personally it’s not worth the risk of using octane booster to try and get 95 fuel up to 98.

On the last tunes car I was always told, get your car tuned (remapped) on crap fuel, then always run it on better fuel. Saves your engine in the long run.

As this car is already tuned on 98, happy to put 99 and put octane booster in if I ever get to take it on the track.
