Hi all, I have a 1/2 inch split on the CV boot (not losing any grease) instead of replacing the boot is there anything you know of that bonds rubber back together? Many thanks peep's.

Superglue is likely to harden the rubber and make things worse. You could try a vinyl glue but not sure that would hold.

There used to be split boot kits that went over the CV joint without removing it. There may be enough room to fit one over the current boot.

But those are only temporary fixes, if I was keeping the car I'd get the boot replaced.

Haven't had to do mine yet, there's a few videos on YouTube showing how. It'll be the same as the MK4 Golf so search for that.

From my understanding the options are splitting the old CV joint or just replacing the whole driveshaft assembly with new inner and outer joints.
