Cupra 280 Ignition Coil Pack item number

In short, What’s the part number for the 280 2.0TSI coils? Do I change all 4 at once?

Story below
Right so had my vacuum pump changed today as it was leaking.

Unfortunately the car started misfiring after pulling out of a junction with moderate revs. I Called up the mechanic to see if it was related to the work done, and also got hold of a mate who is a mechanic. They came out and it’s not related to the work done, they even swapped back the faulty part to check and it’s still running bad.

They ran diagnostics and it’s coming up as a misfire. The EPC and check engine lights came on the dash. The car was over fuelling and blowing out smoke and fuel from the exhaust so they seem confident it’s the coil pack.

I’m not having much luck with my new motor. It’s done 30k miles and has a full service and MOT history. I guess these things come all at once to test us!

What’s the part number for the 280 2.0TSI coils?

Is it worth changing all 4 at once? My dad tells me that it makes more sense as if one has gone there’s a decent chance another will soon.

I would:

1. Scan it
2. Move around the coils to makr sure they are faulty

If coils are good check spark plugs .If plugs are good check injectors.

Just replace all the coils rather than 1 in case they are bad. If you plan some power ups ups consider rs3 coils.
Price is more or less the same comparing to regular ones cupras have

Hi do you have a part number to the rs3 ones by any chance and what plugs do you use I am running stage 1 but just about to go stage 2

Coils 06H905110G but number could have changed already, dealer will know the latest one.
I am running rs7 sparkplugs. No clue ok the number :) you need rs7 ones from around 400hp, step colder than stock

Hi thanks for getting back to me so rs3 cools what year car and rs7 plugs and what car thanks steve

Just as an update, it wasn’t the coil pack it was fuel injector stuck open. :( more pricey

Yeah took ages! Had my mate have a look at it for a few days, then it was the weekend, got it into a VAG specialist but had to wait 7 days and then it took 5 to fix (1 to diagnose, 1 to “send the wrong part”, 1 for another injector to fail, 2 for replacing the other 3 injectors).

Those injectors are prone to break or loose flows around 60-70k km.
Many of mates had this issue.
Worst case is that used ones have 90% chances to be crap too.

Yeah I got new genuine seat ones from a VAG specialist. Cost just short of £1000 for diagnostic, labour, parts and an oil & filter change.. :/

Yeah by the time it was fixed I wasn’t as bothered as I thought. I just wanted the car back!
