After being in the whole copra debacle at the tail end of last year. I wouldn't listen to anyone about spec's, seat tell you one thing, the dealer has a guess or speaks to someone different who says something else, websites will say different. In the end we didn't know what we were getting until the cars arrived at dealers. Also don't rely on what people in other countries receive, its usually different.

Well it looks like I may also be ending my Cupra journey before it actually starts.

Once again the dealer bullsh*t wagon has rolled into town and I won’t be getting any Cupra R ST anytime soon.

I had a lot of to and fro’ing either the Cupra dealer yesterday and it turns out that all the Cupra R ST’s have already arrived in the UK and have already been allocated out to dealers/buyers whatever and my dealer..of course... hasn’t got one for me.
This is after he has continually told me that he was getting one in May 23rd, then 3rd June, now the latest from Seat dealer support is that quote “over the coming weeks and months we are hope-full some more will arrive in the UK and they will be allocated when they do so”

I could try to find out which Cupra dealers have got these Cupra R ST’s but as the deal I had secured with my local dealer was very good (too good maybe that’s why I’m not getting the car ?) I don’t think there will be any point.
At the end of the day as much as I want the R ST it’s still a Seat and most people think I was crazy paying £35k for one in the first place !!

I’ve given the the dealer until Monday to provide me with a concrete date of getting the car so he’s contacted his area manager for help, but I won’t hold my breathe.

Going to look at maybe getting a 1-2yr old Audi S3, BMW 335d, or even a Merc c43 as a back up plan
Kendal Seat had one coming spare apparently.

It's the old story.
Dealers throughout the country will have taken these and live in hope of selling them quickly at full price.
If not sold at full list they seem to get subsidised as demo cars so if they remain unsold after 3 months or so then the good discounts are offered.
Given the recent experience with the Carbon Edition it might be expected that a lot of the cars will be still in the showrooms at more realistic prices come September...but who knows?
Anyway,your back plans are good enough,except should be a 340i not a 335d!
