Modified Cupra 280

Hi Guys and Gals,

I’m in a little bit of a pickle. I work for a used car dealer and we’ve had a highly modified Cupra 280 come in. We have an idea of what’s been modified on the car through the garage that’s done the work through a conveniently placed business card left in the car.

What do you guys think is the best point of action in regards to advertising the car? Are there big nonos that you guys would steer clear of from mentioning?

Apologies in advance, this is my first time joining the forum but I’ve always been a huge Ibiza fan.

One mans ‘highly modified’ is another mans barely tickled.

What are we talking, Stage 1? 2? 3? Suspension, lowering springs, coilovers?

From my point of you I’d be wary of a tuned car, it would depend on the work done to it and by who?.

If it’s someone who’s just banged a remap on I’d be less inclined to trust it vs someone who has sources the right combination of parts for a full on engine build. You’d tell who would better look after it.

All the work was carried out by a VAG specialist in Marlow. It’s stage 2 remapped with a 3” Sport Cat Downpipe, Milltek Stainless Steel Exhaust System, Revo Carbon Series Intake, Revo 380mm Big Breaks, Sachs Performance Clutch Kit.

We’re hoping the guys who did the work are able to supply some kind of invoices to certify the work.

We’ve only had it a few hours and haven’t had a chance to get it on the ramp to check for upgraded suspension but we imagine it’s definitely got something. We have images showing it’s currently putting down 379bhp.

I assume that once you have received the collective knowledge you have requested from this forum that your employer will donate a portion of his profit to sponsor/support it?

It’s unlikely we’re going to make any money if I’m honest, it would take a specific person to buy this.

It was purchased by our used car buyer who was under the impression it was completely standard. I’m just hoping somebody can point us in the direction of where we could find somebody looking for this particular kind of machine.

Hopefully you’ll get the info you need. Maybe worth sharing pictures here and on the Facebook groups to see if you can find any previous owner.

The big brakes , intake and the exhaust weren't enough to tell this chap it's heavily modded?
Did he use to work with fruit purchases before used cars?

You are also a new poster. What business do you work with.
This whole thread is weird as hell.

For what it's worth: Sounds like a really decent modded and taken care off vehicle. Posts some pics for credibility.

Nah fruit purchasers will notice questionable fruit.

That's not heavily modified to me :D. When I bought my current MK2 Cupra the sales guy said "apologies, it has a Milltek catback, I can have it replaced for stock at our expense if you like". Without thinking I just grinned and said "cheers mate, you've saved me about £550 when I do the rest of the exhaust". His face completely fell, as I was taking my stuff out of my FR+, I could hear hill telling the other sales guy "wish I'd have put the price up £500 for the exhaust".

Hi Guys, sorry I don’t have any real experience with modified cars so I thought I’d come to the professionals.

We’re sticking it up for 15k with 30,000 miles. Currently on my only day off this week but will update with more pictures when on site tomorrow.

As a dealer we can’t contact the previous worker without permission which is unlikely to happen.

Is there an SPS Switch with it, as it looks like a Revo upgrade.
