That does appear to quite significantly corroded under there but as pointed out it's all essentially surface rust on unboltable parts so easy enough to remove and refresh.

My latest Cupra R had its fair share of grot beneath its undercarriage but the chassis was sweet so of no real concern as I'd planned on pulling it all off anyhow.

I had spare subframes, wishbones and all new suspension components so plenty of prep work and several tins of Frosts chassis satin black and I ended up with this lot...

Looks good man! Were those used arms and subframe you painted? Or are they new?

Ya I think I'll give the surface rust my best try with a wire brush and drill next weekend.

Subframe and wishbones were used spares I had and refurbished.
Once I'd finished with them and fitted Superpro bushes they were better than new stock items.

I'd say that's all fairly standard cosmetic level of rust , has the car stood for a significant period of time....?
Wouldn't bother me In the slightest, condition of the bushes far more important.

Ps. U know ur missing a dogbone mount in one of those pics

Car stood for the last 8 months in my friends side yard. Not too long. Before that I'm not sure. I bought it with a blown 3rd gear so it could've stood longer. But it is from northern Germany and also from Denmark for the first 2 years of its life. I know in northern Germany they use salt on the roads for snow. And its 4wd so it could very well have been a winter car.

I see that but I'm not sure if there is a 2nd one due to the rear Haldex diff is not symmetrical, I'll have to check it out Friday when I get under her again.

Good news all the bushings are actually in great shape. I'm debating just buying all new suspension components still... pretty cheap here in Germany.

I'll have a go with the drill and wire brushes soon
