For me calipers always have to be red. Black just gets lost. You have these bigi ass brakes you want to show off, then paint them black and don;t see them. Its the same with all black wheels. Why have fancy wheels then paint them black and lose it all. If I was redoing my wheels I'll do them anthracite.
As for pads. That I'm not going to be much
help with I'm afraid.
From what I have read on here about the
Sub8 kit I have, there are 2 big issues with the OEM setup on the
Sub8 kit i have. Sorry if you know this already
1) Brembo brake pads metal core. This is what gets to hot and results in deposits being left on the disc, more so with DSG, that a lot of people think is the disc 'warping'.
2) Discs aren't handed. They are directional, but there is only 1 disc, so basically you are putting the disc the wrong way round for one side. So one side gets a fair bit hotter under heavy usage. Which is just Fing stupid!!!! Bare in mind this is the same on the RS6/RS7 etc too!! Morons!!
3) Extra bonus one - The discs are truely 2 piece floating discs.
Now again going off what I have read, the discs should actually be okay unless you're doing heavy track driving, so long as you change the pads to the non metal cores.
But that's the Sub 8 kit. The RS3 kit I was looking at has the same discs (checked the part number), however clearly your pads are different as you have 4 pads per caliper. Now so long as they're not metal core, you should be okay with the OEM Brembo ones. However best people to ask would be the RS3 guys.
