So a very good friend of mine has upgraded the brakes on his 2017 rs3 to the ceramic ones. He’s had the original 8 pot refurbished with a 18 month warranty and said that they will fit my Leon St 300 but stay away from Audi discs as they have a tendency to warp. Now he is offering them to me for silly money, will these actually fit my car with factory 19” or will I need spacers, has this been done on a St300 before or any cupra. I’m running revo stg1 + tcu so extra stopping power would help.

He’s spot on about the discs, and I believe the part number for them is the same as the part number or my Sub8 brembos.

I don’t think the standard wheels fit the sub8 kit, so you’ll need spacers. I wanted to upgrade my 4 pots to the RS 8 pots as it happens so had a look at killer brakes. They listed those Calipers as fitting my discs. But sadly they’re always black calipers not res :(

@Damo H, so you think with spacers they would fit.

Yeah I think its only a small spacer as well 3-5mm. Although you may as well just get 10mm and fill your archs out haha ;)

The thing is you have the facelift wheels, so can;t say 100% sure. I know the pre facelift none sub8 wheels needed something like a 5mm spacer.

Are the calipers red by any chance ;)

@Damo H, nah because I’ve got a bit of a theme with black and white, had rs sticker removed and a brembo one put on instead: cheeky.

For me calipers always have to be red. Black just gets lost. You have these bigi ass brakes you want to show off, then paint them black and don;t see them. Its the same with all black wheels. Why have fancy wheels then paint them black and lose it all. If I was redoing my wheels I'll do them anthracite.

As for pads. That I'm not going to be much help with I'm afraid.

From what I have read on here about the Sub8 kit I have, there are 2 big issues with the OEM setup on the Sub8 kit i have. Sorry if you know this already

1) Brembo brake pads metal core. This is what gets to hot and results in deposits being left on the disc, more so with DSG, that a lot of people think is the disc 'warping'.

2) Discs aren't handed. They are directional, but there is only 1 disc, so basically you are putting the disc the wrong way round for one side. So one side gets a fair bit hotter under heavy usage. Which is just Fing stupid!!!! Bare in mind this is the same on the RS6/RS7 etc too!! Morons!!

3) Extra bonus one - The discs are truely 2 piece floating discs.

Now again going off what I have read, the discs should actually be okay unless you're doing heavy track driving, so long as you change the pads to the non metal cores.

But that's the Sub 8 kit. The RS3 kit I was looking at has the same discs (checked the part number), however clearly your pads are different as you have 4 pads per caliper. Now so long as they're not metal core, you should be okay with the OEM Brembo ones. However best people to ask would be the RS3 guys.

Do we know for sure if spacers are mandatory with the My2019 factory wheels? I would really be interested in a set of 370x32 but I hate spacers.

Well the Carbon wheels only just clear and the car is full factory wheels/brakes.

There is just about 5mm clearance.

Based on the spoke design of the 5 spokes, I’d be surprised they’d fit without spacers.

What's the offset of those Carbon wheels? Mine are 8Jx19 ET50 but the spoke design is propably causing the problem as you correctly noted.
All the 19" Cupra wheels are ET50, facelift and pre facelift. Although one of them maybe ET51.

The only 2 that aren't are the Cupra R (ET40) and Cupra R ST (ET45) wheels.

Even my Carbon Edition are ET50 despite looking identical to the Cupra R/R ST wheels.

lol total overkill tbh the Brembo package we have is superb
Apart from the tendency for the pads to over heat and leave deposits on the discs that are only designed for one side of the car ;)

But the callipers are good yeah. But I do think the callipers look a little small for a BBK. Just my opinion.

The RS3 callipers do look the nuts.

@Damo H, havin trouble getting discs as Reyland M/sports are shut until 10th June and then they will have a back log of orders to do.,not many sites do theses bolted j hook (recommended) discs. Don’t look like they will be on before the National meet.
