I have been looking for an intake/induction kit for a little while now preferably one with a heat shield. I have made a list of the few I have found, most are not available directly in the UK and some only in the USA which after import duty make them pricey. Out of the ones I have found I am leaning towards the MST or AEM ones. Would love the Forge one but cant part with that kind of money. I haven't even bothered putting the ridiculously priced ARMA one on the list!

Any body have any experience of any of these?

All far to expensive for insignificant power gains surely?
That would be down to the individuals opinion and how much value he places on the extra power (if any) and induction noise. There's a fancy word for it but it escapes me?..

That injen one looks ok- places the filter where I would want it- could poss use a dremmel to cut off and reverse the cold air feed to provide more air- then mibbe just fab some kind of heat shield to isolate it from engine temps?

I have the MST one on my 1.4. Fit's neatly and sounds good. Not sure on power gains but it claims to add upto 9bhp. Key word there is 'upto'. Either way I'm happy with it.

Is the MST one for the Leon? It states Ibiza but not Leon, I'm assuming it's essentially the same engine??

also, does this intake not leave you with an open pipe now going to nothing??

It is the MST one yes, not sure if there is a difference in how it fits. I've attached some photo's of it fitted to my engine.

No, sorry, useless at explaining. I’m on my phone but I’ll get a picture when I’m home later. I’m referring more so to the one in the advert image exiting above the radiator

I see what you're talking about. It's just an initial part of the original airbox. It just bolts off and isn't needed. Check my earlier pics again and you'll notice it isn't there anymore:thumbup:

I was thinking that might have been bodegeable to provide a cold air feed for it but see you've removed it completely.
Do you still get plenty of airflow in there then?
Good pics.

You can just leave it in if you'd like to improve airflow. I haven't had any issues removing it in regards to air flow. You can also make a modification to improve airflow by cutting some of the blanked off holes out, but I've yet to do this.

Have any of you added the forge dv along side?
