A 2.0 tsi leon cupra 2010 has came up for sale locally which has got my interest, just wondering how reliable these engines can be and what sort of problems tend to be common with them?

Same as alot of the TFSI engines of the era, nothing spectacularly wrong but you've gotta keep ontop of a few things

Diverter valves leak
cam followers need replacement
Inlet valves often benefit from a walnut blast
Usual stuff like boost leaks, actuator and boost valve issues.

Thought that they used the tfsi engine, the advert ive seen says its a tsi engine which i thought had the timing chain tensioner issues

TFSI and TSI I thought were the same thing. I read that Audi and VW called the same engine different names...don't know why.

I did too. But apparently the Cupra uses the TFSI EA113 engine and the petrol version of the FR uses the EA888 gen 1 TSI engine. I think that's right... I just assumed they were all the EA113 TFSI engine... wrongly.
