Leon to Ateca

Just changed from a 2018 Leon FR to an Ateca Excellence, mainly because of getting in and out of the vehicle as I get older.
Must say I'm impressed . suppose its an upgrade really, as had a facelift FR 1.4 Tsi petrol before.
Now got a 2017 1.4 Eco Tsi Execellence DSG petrol.
One observation I've noticed is it still seems to suffer from road noise, just like the Leon did, and my 2014 Leon before, although I think not quite as bad, love the higher driving postion however compared to the Leons.

So will now be posting on the Ateca forum, but still contributing to this forum when applicable.

Thanks to all those who have helped me on this forum.

MXP2090, Bit surprised by that I think its just like driving a larger version of the Leon, better visibility easier to get in and out ( certainly as you get older) bit more quieter, may be its because I've stepped up to a much better specced version than my previous Leons.

Mine spent more time in the dealership over the time I had it than on the road.
The seats were uncomfortable and it lacked severe power.
I'm glad it's gone tbh.
I had the same problems with an Ateca. I can see the appeal but personally dull as dish water for me.

I spent a good few months trying to reject the car due to the amount of time spent at the dealers. Eventually got a result and went straight back to a Leon.

My sister is also having the same experience in her fully equipped Xcellence. She's currently in the process of trading in for an A3.

Hopefully just bad luck on our side as I'm sure there's a lot of happy owners out there due to the amount on the roads.

With advancing years and reduced flexibility that this brings, I actually find it easier getting in and out of my ‘normal’ height car than the SUV type vehicle that my sister has. I also always wash my own car and with a car like an Ateca, I’d not be able to reach the roof to wash it without using something like a step stool, which probably wouldn’t be particularly stable on my gravel driveway.

Wonder whether those who've had them but didn't get on with them and had theirs from brand new, mine being just over two years old and would appear to have been "sorted" if there were any problems I'm afraid that I cannot find anything to dislike in them.

I'll have to ask our dog...

By which I mean I suppose the rear sill height is a bit higher than on a Leon ST/Octavia Estate?

If the dog was still OK to jump in I might consider a Cupra Ateca in due course.

Road noise - does it have low profile tyres? Biggest cause!
Sorry cupra14 missed this reply until now. Yes it does, on 19" wheels, Bridgestone tyres, plus I had read on this forum that those can contribute to road noise and possibly a slightly harder ride.
