So, I made a start on cleaning my new ( to me) car today. It’s a 2006 Car so understandably I wanted to give it a good going over.
On dropping the rear seats I found these items wedged between the seat and boot floor.
Yip, an umbrella ( obviously folded) lol, 1 glove and metre rule! How the heck you lose a metre rule in a car I don’t know?
Also in the spare wheel well were 2 conkers, a ball of string and a tea towel.
What’s the strangest thing anyone else has ever come across after buying a used car??

That's enough spare parts MacGyver could have built an aeroplane. My spare wheel well is an astral plane. You ever lost a blue biro? Well you didn't. It was magically transported to my wheel well. However the lid can't be transported and is destroyed in the process. Which is really the only explanation how I ended up with 9 of them. A hb pencil. And 7 pence in assorted coins.

I found a twice sealed bag in under a passenger seat to be what looked like a sandwich lol but I think it had been in there a while and was now just green matter floating in the bag.

That was picked up with great care and moved to the nearest skip haha

Very poor valeting if you bought the car from a dealer, over the years I’ve found loads of money under seats, in ashtrays, a new battery screwdriver and bits, numerous CDs in trade ins, and loads of sweeties that have evolved into sticky blobs in trade ins, only once did some one come back and ask for the change that had been left in an ashtray.

Can’t be as bad as my wife’s Ford S max for pens and pencils. Looks like a WHSmith has exploded in that!
And I won’t mention the seat rails in row 2. Knocks me sick just thinking about what’s between them. Can’t even get between them with a small brush so whatever goes down there is there forever!

II think I've got you beat on this one:redface: ....... way back in 2005..I was massively skint and had no car.... saw a sorry looking Corsa on a drive, it'd been there a while..... knocked on the door and after a short conversation.... I was told I could have it .... managed to get it started and it did drive home....needed a bit of welding and several service items...but cleaning it out was ODD ...... The rear seat was more worn than the front seats....there was loose change everywhere ...and small strips of paper with numbers on ...turns out they were phone numbers...

It was all just odd, but nowt was obviously odd until I opened the glove box ..... and it looked about only 1" deep...but was actually packed full of vaseline ..... after a very shocking OMG moment....it all became obvious ... It was erm a car that had been used as a mobile convenience for ...how shall we say.... discerning gentlemen ......it all became clear that ... if you pushed the seats forward and knelt on the rear seat..facing out the back window..... whoever was the other person could flip down the glove box lid and errr ...well I guess it all went smooooth from then on..

The car got a very good cleaning after that ... !!!!! ....however it did get nicknamed GREASED LIGHTENING...

In my ex-Japan BMW E39 540, there was (still is) an emergency flare in the glove box (tsunami/earthquake rescue attention getter!) and the equivalent a Lidl or Aldi product newspaper in Japanese in the passenger front seat back pocket.

That's clever, cos I'm currently in Spain I've got a Spanish flag next to my icon!

It picks up the country of you IP Address and show that, so you will see a lot of people with VPN's where the flag is not where they are based and if you want you can turn it off (in your profile under privacy settings untick View the flag of the Country you are in)
