These are standard front Conts for the Leon 300 with 5k miles on. I really want to get some PS4's as have heard amazing things about them, only had this car a week and just feel like the traction is awful and this must be to do with the tred being low and the fact these tyres are not the best. To get the most out of these tyres how long do you think these have left or would it be best to buy new PS4's asap.

Thanks Guys,
this is the best price I have found (F1 autocentre) for them that also includes fitting, I will have to get these so enable me to enjoy the ride a bit more!

Got contis on mine. I really haven’t had much issue with them. They are softer than the Michelins and it feels good when they are hot; they seem to stick well and give good grip

however, they don’t seem the be lasting very long and the majority of my driving is commuting so it’s not that aggressive so I’ll be making a switch to PS4s soon!

If you’ve not had Michelin PS4S or the precious gem they replaced (PSS) before, you’ll notice the difference.

I had PSS on my 280, and had the new Carbon with the Contis less than 2 weeks before ordering new tyres. Just no confidence in them.

i had PSS for a few month before I swapped alloys for sub8 rims which had the contis on. Hadn’t had the car long so probably didn’t push it enough at the time to see the difference :)

have conties on my as well, did 9k so far. They good in dry hot summer days, however useless in cold(ish) rainy days.

I can definitely agree with this. I didn’t find too many issues with the Conti’s but as soon as I moved to the PS4S I felt a lot more confident with the group coming out of corners and roundabouts carrying a bit of speed. Also the breaking was a lot better for me. It felt as if the car now has some proper grip.

Having the dogbone insert (034 Motorsport) as well as the tyres made a big difference to the handing of my CUPRA.

have been considering the dogbone insert but I'm concerned about the additional vibration in the cabin. Is it really noticeable?

I only noticed a little in reverse. But after 10 minutes of driving I definitely didn't care. Stopped noticing it after about 500 miles.

I noticed it on the first time I drove the car and now it’s not noticeable at all. For the benefit it gives it way outweighs the problems.

Just put the PS4S on mine, a brilliant tyre. Massive grip. This dog bone that people are talking about, where do I get it, any downsides to fitting these?

I got mine which is an 034 Motorsport Aluminium Billet

from Progressive Parts who are a site sponsor. You need to make sure you get the correct one for your car though as there are two models. It depends on which mount you have. I got my local dealer to fit it for me. That way there was no concerns over the bolt being torqued up correctly plus if there are any issues I go back to them to sort.

yeah not impressed with the Conti Sport 5Ps that came on my Cupra. 8k miles and they were burnt out. I swapped them for PS4S last week. WOW what a difference. The wet grip is unbelievably better and dry grip is immense. if anything i find the steering has become lighter which is my only gripe. Kwik Fit done 2 tyres for £135 each which i think is a great price.

You went to Kwik Fit and the rims return unscathed?
I make a point of going to Kwik Fit in Wigan, always looked after my car. You can tell based on the cars they drive they're car enthusiasts. Plus if they mess up they're a bigger place to be able to complain to.

My local dealer fitted my PS4S tyres onto my CUPRA wheels. If they don’t look after the wheels it’s an easy place for me to get new ones sorted with minimal hassle. I did make them aware I had taken photos of the condition of each wheel before I handed the car to them.

And it only cost me £25 total to have four tyres fitted and sorted. Bonus
