Air Care Clima System - Brrrrr

My 2016 Leon ST FR Tech........here’s the issue - whilst on a journey (doesn’t even have to be a long one) the climate control system will not hold and maintain a constant temperature?? So one minute everything is cosy and then for no reason the interior is freezing cold at shoulder/head height. The dual zone display reads 20 but to get that temperature I have to keep turning up the temps until the cold air “stops” and then it gets hotter than a sauna.
During this cycle I press the setup button in the fan speed control - this brings up a picture of the dash showing the heater settings and direction of the air flow from the vents. On the RHS is a button showing a seated person with some arrows and by pressing this it brings up a picture of the vehicle interior. Here it now shows Air Care Clima and “blue” cold air going across the roof throughout the interior, to switch this off (??) the ‘activation’ button top left of the screen does this however when I exit this screen the cold air cycle starts again and everybody in the car gets cold and feels a draught. HELP!!!! I have spoken to my dealer who don’t really get what I’m saying as they probably don’t spend enough time driving Leon’s continuously but this is seriously getting on my nerves and is really putting me off keeping the car. So if anybody else has or is experiencing this please get in touch - any help or advice would be much appreciated and I won’t need to drive the car in a thick coat, hat, scarf and gloves

Good evening fellow Leon owners, my post has been up for 7 days with lots of views but not one response?????
Lots of you own and run Leon’s so my question is simply does anybody else suffer this issue or am I on my own - my local dealer are more than happy to play dum on this hence why I’m asking the question on here.
If this is a feature of the car then well it’s gonna have to go - if not then I can use your feedback to put in front of my local dealer and tell them that this is a fault and talk to Seat to resolve.
C’mon fellow Leon owners help me here - please!

I'm not 100% clear from your post. But...
If climate control is switched on, and you de-activate it (by pressing the on-screen button), then you'll be back to regular air con/heating.
So, if you're then manually adjusting the temperature up and down, it will potentially get very hot and then if you reduce the setting, it's likely to blow in cold air to bring the temperature down to what you selected. That seems to be what you're saying?
If you're in the car on a short journey, the engine will take a while to heat up and you're not necessarily gonna get hot air straight away.
I just set the climate control and leave it - and it keeps to a constant temperature. The air from the vents will vary in temperature, as the climate control adjusts the temperature to match conditions - whether that's heating or cooling.
Has your car always had this problem - or did it work correctly when you got it? I couldn't work out whether you're saying it's always been like this - or it happened after owning the car for a while.
My previous car - mk2 leon fr - was the first car I had with climate control rather than air con. That worked the same, but it should be automatic. I'm just not clear if it's a fault, or whether you're not allowing the system to adjust the flow and temperature to meet your settings.
Have you tried manually adjusting the flow - to direct heat/cold within the car? Sounds like you're solely adjusting temperature?

I have mine set to Auto and 20 degs both sides not synced just in case the passenger wants a different temp. Like in my previous cars I just leave it like this all year round and let the car decide what vents, fan speed, AC etc to use. Never had any issues and always a nice comfortable temperature.

Air Care Clima - is a system to remove smell - pollen - pollution. I have noticed when active you don't get the usual outside smells coming in from other cars diesels / farmers country air. I think the blue graphics is misleading it is just showing you the air that has been treated going over the cabin, not cold. It will go from front to back in a blue sweep. It also uses a sensor in the car to check the air in and out from what I am reading, much like the Skoda clean air system.

You will also notice when you open a door / window it deactivates and restarts the cycle, if you are on that screen as it is basically a recirculation function with dust / pollen control. This may also be dependant on the pollen filter maybe a higher spec is needed like a carbon one but I am not 100% on this as never had mine changed yet

If you have the climate set on full auto like I do all the time it will just use AC / engine heat to moderate the temperature and maintain. You do sometimes get a cold / fresh air feeling as the sun comes out or a warm breeze if drops cold as it moderates the temp but its no artic blast, also on full auto, it will change where the air is coming from and normally send up the windscreen not the face vents.

Not sure if this helps but let me know happy to try a test on mine to compare.

There is also 3 settings : three different settings (“Gentle”, “Medium”, “Strong”) what is yours set to I will check mine later.

Also found this VW, but same system :

The OP may well have faulty temperature flap motor, or motors, checking that would mean, for a DIYer, to use VCDS to talk to the HVAC controller and display the temperature flap motor(s) and change their settings to see what the servo response was. A main dealer could also do that using their own VW Group dedicated diagnostic kit.

There is a sunlight sensor and that will cause sudden short term heating or cooling until things get back in control.

Exactly, all the VAG cars I've driven had climate control which worked fine - set and forget, whether that's in UK or abroad (Europe).

I forgot about that setting. I never changed mine from default.

Fellow forum members - thanks for taking the time to offer your thoughts and experiences regarding my issue.
I hear what the general consensus is and I understand it but previous Seat’s I’ve owned and other vehicles I’ve driven that have had dual/triple zone climate control systems have never worked like mine.
I’ve tried setting and leaving the temps in the car well alone whilst on a journey but believe me when this starts to “blow” cold air it really gets cold - bone shivering cold - and at no point does it stop getting cold without intervention by myself or my passenger by turning up the temps in the car.
So I’ll take it back into my local dealer - I’m gonna try and test drive another Leon to try and also explicitly explain what goes on and hopefully get to take out their master tech to experience this issue and then hopefully raise a case with Seat UK and attempt to resolve the problem - otherwise its time to get rid!!
I’ll keep you posted and thanks again

Sounds like the best option, reading in more detail and as you had other Seat before, sorry didn't realise that it sounds like something more than a setting, what about the sensors that detect the interior temp, any idea where they are located, could they be telling the climate to adjust.
