Took my 2001 LC to a rolling road to check it's numbers as I took a friend out in it and they reckoned it definitely wasn't standard, all I have done is put an s2000 filter on it. It has never missed a service, had 3 cambelt changes and is to me well looked after despite having 170k. It produced 188bhp and 306nm of torque. The guy testing it said it felt really good, smooth and they were adament it was standard, is this normal or do the standard engines power vary?

I'd say it's more likely its a case that their rolling road is probably over reading slightly. Looking at the boost pressure would probably be the best way to tell.

Yeah maybe, how would I go about doing that?
You can use something like the 'torque app' or use a boost gauge, but pretty much all stage 1 maps give 210bhp so i'd say it's pretty certain that it's their RR over-reading a standard engine. If it's been well maintained then there is no real reason why it shouldn't produce the same power than it came from the factory with.

They were probably looking at the boost pressure themselves, hence why they said it's standard.

Oh ok thanks, don't you think the torque is high though? Standard is supposed to be 235nm is it

That is a stock tune

get yourself to r-tech for a remap. You will make 210bhp but the difference is waaaay more than 30bhp on paper. Transforms the car

Way more torque than standard so defo remapped I'd say. But rubbish amount of horsepower for a stage 1.
Check for boost leaks, or N75 valve or recirc valve could be knackered. Or could be a crappy map

Yeah I thought so too, I've ordered an n75 just to be on the safe side, looks like it could be the original 18 year old one!

torque definitely indicates remap/boost increase.

for the power, bear in mind that the car has covered 170,000 miles and while 210 is often quoted for remaps many fall lower than this.
Also, as it is a 2001, do you know the engine code? if its APP then it will have the K03 and not the K03s turbo and figures you have quoted are bang on for a remapped K03 and thus if so the power output is actually great given the mileage with many remaps for a K03 quoting 190-195 bhp.
