Passenger door won’t unlock with key

For some reason the front passenger has stopped unlocking with the key but will open from the inside or will open from the outside if i press the unlock button in the car. It can’t be a problem with the key can it as all the other doors open and lock with the key?

Sound like it’s unlikely to be the key. Try using your spare key; if the front passenger door doesn’t unlock using the spare key, then you’ll know it’s not the key at fault, but more likely an electrical problem - possibly a faulty door lock actuator or damaged wiring?

Could it be as simple as you have convenience opening activated (one press unlocks the drivers door, two presses opens the passengers side)?

This, annoys the hell out of me on my brothers BMW. Always forgets to press the key twice so I can get in...

I do press it twice as it unlock both rear doors? I’m going to try the spare key otherwise I will need to get the passenger door checked out

So for some strange reason after pressing the unlock button on the door in the car all the doors seem to be working perfectly fine now? Weird but glad i don’t have to make a trip the mechanic anymore.
