Hi guys,

Thought I would post in this forum rather than a specific model as this applies to all VWAG cars. I've made a video on how to replace your D-type connectors, mostly found in headlights and larger pin connectors.

As we all know the tab on the headlight connector can snap over time, and will make removing & connecting the connector a pain in the butt.

You don't need any special tools, you just need a new connector and a few bits that should be lying around in your house.
This includes a small flat screwdriver, a bobby pin, needle nose pliers if you have fat fingers like me, a small marker to mark the wire numbers and of course a new connector.

Old connector part number: 1J0 973 735
New connector part number: 6R0 973 735 - Around £8 from TPS

The old connector has been superseded and the new connector seems a bit stronger, so the tab should be less likely to break. It worked perfectly first time when we tested.

If you have any questions drop them here or on the video :)
