Hi

I've noticed some damage to the passenger side wheel arch plastics and just behind the front passenger side wheel arch under the side skirt. Does any ody have an idea of how much these are and how difficult they are to replace?

I'll attach some pictures...

I think they’re just screwed into place with torx head fixings, at least they are on my VW). There’s usually a good selection of used ones for sale on the internet.

Here’s a nearside underbody plastic floor pan cover for sale on eBay (part no. 5Q0825201L);
https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/283651200398?rt=nc&_trkparms=aid=222007&algo=SIM.MBE&ao=2&asc=20160908110712&meid=ef6af92ffdb54e82b743bd3b9bce8809&pid=100677&rk=5&rkt=30&sd=283651201031&itm=283651200398&pmt=0&noa=1&pg=2386202

If you Google ‘mk3 Seat Leon wheel arch liners’ there are currently quite a few used ones for sale on eBay at around £20-£30 each.

I dare say that if there are any breakers yards close to you, they may also have some.

They are rubbish mine failed on the passenger side and dragged along the ground at 6 months old. Bodged it back together by drilling holes in it and cable tying it back together

car is leased so not my problem

Presumably I just need the arch liner and splash guard and the fixings if I'm missing any.. No idea how it's occurred.

Wheel arch liner was £46 a couple of weeks ago from TPS. Replaced 2 (both nearside on my pre-FL 5dr) and now 1 (nearside on FL Cupra ST). Previously they were low £30s, so not sure why the sudden jump in price as they are standard across all range (Cupra premium?).

Its strange that they’ve all broken in the same place - definitely a design fault/weak point in the design.

Take front wheel off to speed removal/installation - all torx screws.

I am more concerned with the piece hanging down behind the wheel. I'll do both at the same time hopefully.

Looking at some underbody pictures getting the right part which runs from the front left wheel arch under the side to under the passenger front door is going to be the tricky piece to find. I've not found any that look the same as mine.

Mines a 64 plate 1.4 FR. Is this likely to vary much between models?

Thanks for the diagram - I was trying to find something like that all afternoon yesterday! I think the part you posted in post 2 is the correct one looking at that. So I'll get ebaying. Found an arch liner too. Hopefully the screws are all still there else I'll need those too.

Finally got this sorted (got the parts from ebay and had to store them for a short while until I could get it done). Much better now it doesn't have bits hanging underneath !

Sometimes better off going to the main dealer for these parts. Worth knowing that they can and will reduce the price dramatically if you ask them to. I replaced the bumpers and heaps of plastic bits on my cupra last year and by the time I was finished they were charging about half the price of when I first called. I replaced 3 arch liners and only one was due to acident damage. (22k car) I think they are V poor quality. They were about £30 each.

Mine went in the exact same place a couple of weeks ago. Had this horrendous noise coming from the wheel arch on full lock and immediately thought the worst.

Checked there and there was a massive bit of it hanging off directly into the wheelarch. Relieved and annoyed as that shouldnt be happening....good to know its not just me though and I didnt hit something massive to cause it.

Its due a service early next year so was just going to get it done then, provided their prices aren't extortionate of course.

Seriously?

Mrs Seriously managed to remove 2 bits of the plastic underbody from her Leon just by running the car through a deep puddle she couldn't avoid at night. I can't even blame her for going too fast as her dashcam revealed she was only doing 24 mph! And if we as SEAT owners think these bits are rubbish quality, just imagine how you must feel as an Audi owner (given that one of the bits I had to replace is also fitted to the A3)
