Dash light issue

Recently purchased a 2013 1.2 fr and I am having a really strange electrical issue, when the hand brake is on, the water temp light, oil light, door and boot open light all come on but are very very dim? As soon as I take the hand brake off, they go out! So confused, any suggestions?

Do the warnings actively start chiming in the dash as if the doors were actually open? If not maybe the lights in the cluster have been repaired shoddily before and the light from the hand brake light is bleeding through into other sections of the cluster, if it's not that then it might be the wrong amp fuse being fit for the dashboard stuff.

Sounds like either a wiring issue or a plug/socket issue or a soldering issue at the dashboard pod.

Check the plug/sockets first and also check for any water leaking into the front area of the passenger cell.

will do - tbh it has been sat for a while (hence why it was an absolute steal) so cant complain about a small issue like this - will let you know how I get on!
