your right u do need somthing to support the base of the cup and i dont think the trays wide enough for a cup hole as the cup holder is slighty wider than the tray,
im well happy with this mod, ive always wanted a cup holder :D
if you dont fancy doin abit of trimming, get a polo cup holder, i think they slot right in

sorry i have not put a few pics up forgot about this thread any way hear are a few pics of how i did it.
may be a good idea to put this in the FAQ section ?
polo 6n2 cup holder.

first of take the front off there are to screws at the bottom undo them and it should pull off and then unplug the wire on the back.

it will then look like this

then get a flat blade screw driver and pop the coin tray out

so you are left with this

IMG_2117.jpg

now you will need to trim the plastic back a bit i used a stanley blade

IMG_2118.jpg

and you will have to trim the front panel

IMG_2119.jpg

and when you have done that put it all back the same way you took it off and then it should look like this.

and enjoy a can of bow

Hmmm, I'm wondering if the centre console out of a 6K caddy would fit in, as I know they do on 6n polos and the centre console bit is the same. They have proper built in cupholders, only thing is you would lose the cigarette lighter and storage bit there.
I'm thinking of getting hold of another cupra centre console and a caddy one and doing some cutting, plastic welding, filling and painting and try and make a hybrid so it fits nicely and has proper cupholders.

No offence to anyone but these ones replacing the coin tray all look utter gash, they don't match the dash at all.

Hi, I am new here and will try to make a cup holder in my Ibiza like above.
Does anyone has pictures of the manual because I see just the watermarks.

Thank you in advance
