To get your actual figure you need to do a decent motorway run 200+ miles. Cruise control it at 70.

My Cupra 280 Stage 2 was capable of 430 miles on a full tank when on motorway runs, doing my commute it would only get 180-230.

Porsche is capable of 560 miles, on commute lucky to get 230 again.

FR 2.0 TDi 184 DSG with a new engine (3500 miles on it), not remapped, 84 Km (52 miles) trip on country - mountain roads with Economy mode and lot of "coasting mode" use, avg consumption 4L/100 Km (58.8 mpg).

What is meant by 'miles travelled on a full tank'? Do you run the car until it runs out of fuel? There is even one poster compared a Leon and a Golf of different ages - different sized fuel tanks?
If comparisons of fuel consumptions are to be useful then accurate measurement is needed by checking over a decent mileage and not relying on the car's mpg read out.
My 2018 Leon 1.4TSi (150) DSG shows 47mpg for the 9 mile return trip into the nearest town when the temperature is 3C - I don't believe it. .

Petrol or diesel no car is getting over 40 mpg in a 6 mile work commute simple as that...

Actually, we have a 1.6 TDi SE ST which mostly scoots around town. Very short stop/start driving. My wife works in the local schools so maybe a couple of miles, car sits for an hour then another mile or two. Longer runs at the weekend etc but it's not a motorway muncher.

Car rarely dips under 50mpg. With a longer run it can get up to 60mpg but typically it's about 55. That's not an estimate, that's me working out the actual mpg after every fill.

Your commute is 6 miles.

Basically you have bought the wrong car.

Petrol or diesel no car is getting over 40 mpg in a 6 mile work commute simple as that, be lucky if the coolant is even up to full operating temperature by the time it is switched off and zero chance of the oil being up to temperature.
Funny you say that because in my 1.9tdi golf mk5 I used to get 500 miles from one full tank in the same 6 mile commute. Diesel.

Different size fuel tanks? The mk5 Golf has a 55 litre tank. Seem to remember it being discussed that the mk3 Leon’s fuel tank is 50 litres. The mk5 Golf 1.9tdi was rated at 105ps whereas the standard 2.0 diesel in the Leon is 184ps. Generally speaking, the more powerful the engine, the more fuel it uses.

So it’s not too surprising if your lower powered Golf with a larger fuel tank would cover more miles per tank than your higher powered Leon with a smaller fuel tank.

Wife gets on average 55 mpg. Mostly for going to and from work, including picking up kids. The best I can do is about 35 mpg but only on longer runs, the same route I'm about 30 mpg.

She has a BMW 120d F20 LCI, 190 ps diesel. Incredible engine for fuel economy and at the same time pretty nippy.

Is that the dreaded N47 engine or does it have a newer one. The woes of the N47 always put my off the 2.0d bmw power plant

ooo, which one? Also, do you have access to everything you had on the original stereo?

I bought the car used after the previous owner had blown the engine apart :) , he was the one that installed this head unit. After some research I am convinced that it is an S160 from some Chinese brand.

As far as car settings and information, they are all there and functioning properly - drive modes, settings, info, tpms, etc

Ive got the same 184 tdi dsg. But mine has 240 hp 520nm acording to tests. I has been tuned since begining (2017), but last version from my tuner has really moved the game on. I do a lot of driving, mosly 110 km/h with heavy trafic at some secions. My personal record are 650 miles on 1 tank. It does over 20 km/l without much effort. 22 km/l is more or less what it does acording to the mfa, 21 km/l messured at the pump with the weather conditions we have now.

Be aware that 2.0 tdi 150 and 184 can have a faulty O2 censor, and with no fault codes or signs, other than bad fuel econemy. A new one helps a lot.
