Also here in Sweden they have said that all cars with dpf/gpf will be extra controlled when its time for MOT so they havent been removed

Since we get a lot of questions about this, I thought this was a really interesting article by Revo which answers a lot of questions.

In summary they got their 2019 290 from 290 to 370bhp (380 to 500nm torque). Oh and anticipate that GPF removal will go the way of DPF removal and become illegal once MOT checks catch up again.

I could be wrong, but I would hazard a guess if a gpf had been removed it may fail the emmisions test anyway ?

The emmisions allowance for new cars is so low now days. About half of what it was 10 years ago

Very interesting read, such amazing stage 1 gains too, wish I could've afforded the insurance on a Cupra  Would've thought GPF removal would be illegal already given that DPF removal is, don't see why the plod would treat the two differently.

I can immediately see the benefits for the 4 drive ST but not the fwd hatch.
Have you made any other changes to handle that much extra power?

The benefits are immense on the fwd version including an improved power to weight ratio IMO
No other changes required, these engines are easily tunable up to 500 bhp with ancillaries such as turbo, air intake, intercooler although the stock one is substantial, downpipe although I dont believe that the newest gpf exhaust version has yet been tuned to this level but I think it's only a matter of time......

Real world driveability has transformed what was already a very quick car to almost supercar levels. Check out the 30-70 mph time of 3.67s and 100 to 200kph of 10.5s

You'd need an uprated dogbone mount and a set of PS4S's bar that the cupra handles the extra power very well, oh and a uprated clutch if its a manual

I think that the 100-200 time is very conservative on a fwd, that is what ST 4drives are doing so fwd should be quicker

Ok, makes more sense.
I notice that my stock car struggles to handle its power but I don't have PS4s or an uprated dog mount.

Does the dogbone mount compromise the ride?
