Asked for an update from LO over the holiday. just had a reply:

"I am afraid that there has been some delays with SEAT production as there was a fire and then the Christmas closure, the dealer now anticipates that your vehicle should be with them on 17/02/2020. This is a provisional date and it may change so please do not rely too heavily upon this; we will of course keep you updated to any changes. "

for info - ordered 25th Oct... and that's now an additional 3 week delay on my previous estimate of 24th Jan
Were you provided with a build week? I think I ordered my Lux a week before you.

I rang up and said I’d like to register a customer concern about my car. They took my details and then asked if I’d like to escalate it to “management” or something. A week later I got a call saying they’d like to offer me compensation.

for the record. I ordered September and got the same build week as you. Desire red Cupra Lux
So maybe I shouldn't be complaining then, I only ordered 18th October. I was happy with BW 50, but frustrated that hasn't materialised

Your likely although it’s sooo random to be a March Delivery

there are people with BW from 47-52 with delays and atm no one had a BW again and no one knows how they are clearing the backlog

it’s a lottery

My lease car goes back soon so if its march delivery I'm tempted to cancel. Need a car :(

Received mine yesterday and have been having fun all day.

Such a fun car to drive, ridiculously fast for a fwd car and sounds quite good considering it’s got a gpf filter.

It’s Meant to get louder after a putting some miles on it as well, so looking forward to that.

One thing I can say is that pictures don’t do this car justice. Looks a lot better in person, I thought I chose the wrong colour with black, But I’m glad I went with it.

Here’s a little clip on acceleration! YouTube app has downgraded the quality of the vid!

Took a call from SEAT UK today. Seems the official statement is that all cars that were affected by the delay should have finished production by the end of week 5.

Mine (initially BW50) is going to be built between BW 3 and 4 and they are doing the cars in batches to try and clear the backlog. I have been offered some goodwill but they are negotiating that with the dealership so I am unsure what that will be yet.

I asked if they could confirm when delivery will be and if they could make sure it is in or after March which they said was fine.

I ordered my Cupra in August, it was delayed to January and I’ve had an email from Leasing Options that due to the fire at the dashboard factory (mentioned ages ago on here!) that my car won’t be with the dealer until 28/2/20. I’ve spoken to Leasing Options and they have indicated that they will impose a 3% P11D charge for cancelled which is not far off £1000. Has anyone had any look cancelling their order? Any advice welcome as I can’t keep waiting on this car.

In a similar boat and was told charge would be £0-£1000. Not very clear

What conversations have you had with them so far? I’m going to speak with them tomorrow following the email I’ve received today. I was happy to have the car despite the long waits initially but it’s been so long now. I can’t believe there’s no way to get out of it if there’s been exceptionally long delays.

I can’t see they can charge you anything

have you paid money already

if not cancel and tell them where to go,the car has not been delivered within the agreed contract terms, any company won’t go to court because they will lose.Just call citizens advice or look up ombudsman for vehicles

I’ve paid a deposit but I wouldn’t expect that back. I think that’s the route I’m going to go down, I just don’t want to end up with anything negative on my credit file.

today was my first email regarding potential cancellation, they have written back to say I lose my admin fee which is far but then mention elsewhere they need to evaluate the cost of cancellation as its outside their control. Not sure this is even correct because Im sure come March they could lease my 2020 plate no issues.

Yer I’m week 48 but I also ordered July 10th !
Same here, and now “due to be built between 2-5”

Dealer said he has been promised delivery before end of feb and he then questioned how if it is built in week 5?

Seems like Seat main dealers are being told the same shower of shi^e that we are

Cant see how they would have a leg to stand on when theyve gone over the 16 week lead time that was the max when I was quoted so they don't have a leg to stand on, cars not been built yet they won't have accrued any losses so they have a cheek keeping the admin fee to be honest, we've probably done more leg work than they have ringing SEAT up and emailing constantly
