Inlet manifold support bracket thingy

My LCR doesnt have this bracket - Is it absolutely required ?

It's not essential but it wasn't put there for fun and supports the weight of the inlet & throttle body rather than it hanging on the bolts.

I've got one on eBay as it happens.

Turns out it has been removed because its 20mm too short - There is a phenolic (?) spacer and 2 gaskets fitted (Well found out after I pulled the manifold off)

So maybe I need to make one or get one from "Mr Wronghorse" and extend it ?

Ah ok yeah I've seen this a couple of times on breakers I've had in due to having phenolic spacers added.

Isolates the inlet manifold from heat soak, so essentially the ecu see's lower iat's so it doesn't pull timing as much.
