Booked in for my MoT today - 4pm next Tuesday should give me a chance to give it a good run before the test. If it passes without any trouble I'm probably going to go ahead with changing the clutch myself, so expect plenty of stupid questions from me about why there are four Sachs clutch kits on the eurocarparts website and they're all different prices but have the same measurements...

Broke down yesterday. My clutch pedal broke & fell to the floor :( Managed to coast out of rush hour traffic in neutral & rac came to rescue. Must be the month for clutch issues!
Sounds like either slave cylinder valve or centrifugal clutch cylinder

**** must've been a mix of two types of paints... Never mix enamel, lacquer, or acrylic paints always stick to one type.

best thing might be to bathe in some kind of paint thinner depending on the paint you used. But be careful as some paint thinners can damage plastic.

That’s brutal! Reminds me I need some 2k lacquer with a hardener mixed in. Anyone got any recommendations where to buy?

Thanks for this - still confused, but it's probably safer to say I'm less confused than I was before.

The main thing for me is making sure I have all the things I'm going to need before I start dismantling the car - but the more I read about clutches, the more I'm starting to feel like that's actually part of the challenge - you might need a new flywheel on this job, a new master cylinder on that job, a new release bearing on that one...
