The Scirocco 1.4 160bhp? Engine was rated at 42 mpg (in the old mpg figures), so city would be low 30s, reality, mid-to high 20s is ok ish..for city drive and longer journies up to high 30s. THe 1.4 EcoTsi (some say this engine is better than the 1.5 EVO) as it's not mapped for the more stringent emissions + kangaroo effect. I've had 2 DSGs, 1 'wet' on a TDI 6 speed and 1 'dry' on a TSI 7 speed. The 'wet' one was much smoother. I'm not sure what the 1.4 has, but assuming it's 7 speed 'dry' one like the one I had on the 1.0 EcoTSI.
In reality, I believe you could get 35-40mpg in city, 50-55 mpg 40-50mph roads, and perhaps around 50mpg easily if on highway at the NSL (running of 2 cyl). Some 1.4EcoTSI users have shown 60+ mpg even...
