So I’ve found my EGT sensor wire has come away from the pipe going into the turbo. If looking to replace but are aftermarket any good and/or what happens if I leave it? - cars currently having work done so not sure if there’s any error messages.

I can't comment on aftermarket units as I've only ever fitted genuine VAG ones but I do know as a general rule of thumb that aftermarket sensors are **** and unreliable.

I do have a spare if you're interested?

New ones are about £200. I'd get a second hand one.

If your EGT isn't working the engine will run very rich.

Keep the old one because when they fail it tends to be the circuit board and you can solder your old one in if the replacement ever fails.

Cheers mate, will do that as it’s just the cable that has come out of the metal part that goes into the turbo.
