During these times stuck in the house I’ve watched various traffic police shows, (and much more shite besides) been watching the Aussie versions in the mornings, the fines issued make ours look like loose change, and the impound charges, well, at least the police costs are covered by them, something different to pass th time.

When I worked in New Zealand for 12 months back in 2014/15 I got a $150 fine for no seat belt!!
Their "Rego" or tax is every 3 or 6 months depending on age of car and their Warrant of Fitness (WOF/MOT) is proper strict on stock not to mention modifications..
I noticed a lot of cars having their exhausts tested on a decibel meter..

On the flip side though insurance in not compulsory and they get 5 years on a provisional licence.
Young lads driving round in 5.2 litre V8 Ford Falcon's or Holden Commodore's with no real road experience....ridiculous

I'm an old Kiwi - Passed my test at aged 15, Day of my birthday Car in the morning and bike in the afternoon.
Bike was a Kawasaki GPZ600R and car was the Toyota in the "what was your first car post" second car was a 355 ci Chev powered Holden Ute.

Yup crazy rules ....
