They were £15,500 new and my one was registered on September 22nd 2005, so I don't think £13,000 is too bad, especially as I got £14,000 for my LCR!!! :D

RRP was £15,500 but they didn't sell for that, my stepdad got one for £12,700 new and unregistered (i.e. not a pre reg). However given the p/x price you got it sounds like a reasonable deal.

I had a 172 Cup and it was a fantastic car ( shite build quality aside ) . The Clio Trophy looks a great car, but personally I couldn't go back to a car that size and a new Renaultsport Clio will be out in a matter of months.

No matter what you read, the Clio Trophy is universally accepted as one of the best cars you can buy, in terms of sheer dynamic performance....

"The most fun you can have on three wheels..." - evo
"World's greatest hot hatch" - Autocar
"Best hot hatch ever" - evo
"It seems to go round any corner at whatever speed takes your fancy." - Clarkson (http://driving.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,12529-1857815_1,00.html)

Combine that with the p/x I got and you can't really go wrong!!! :D

Hi, i don't want to p1ss on your bonfire, but...
i used to believe what i read, & after having 5 mk2 golf GTi's i thought it was about time i experienced the 'best' hot hatch that the press had to offer. so off i went & bought a 205 1.9 GTi, i think i managed about two miles before i decided to sell it.
but i knew i was wrong to question the best in the business, so after another golf i bought a...

1.9 GTi, i think i used it for two days before i turned it for a profit.
i could never love or enjoy a car like the 205, but as a tool to get from A-B it was quick, it just wasn't me.
its a bit like Mac's, you know there better, i may well believe they are better, but i can't really be bothered to put up with the shite in order to extract the last once of performance i would get over a PC.
still horses for courses & i hope you enjoy your new car.

well its all about opinion. Given the choice id have a brand new evo over most cars.

You can get a mitsubishi 3000gt twin turbo for about 3k - bargain!

But id rather have a 4 year old leon

I had a 172 Clio and loved it to bits. Had it two years and it didn't miss a beat. I think quality issues are overplayed on French stuff. Their are probably plenty of people who have conflicting opinions mind you! I would have kept mine but as said above I needed more space and the Leon provides that. Happy motoring!
