Questions about MAF dying and alternative MAFs

I have some questions about the MAF.

-What is the LCR MAF part number (and does it sit in a 3" housing, and connects to a regular Leon)?
-Are there other MAFs (RS4/S4/Tdi) that I could use in a 3" housing that can cope with over 270hp? That also fits the wire/connector physically and electric? And preferably gives out similar signals as a S3 MAF so I don't have to remap?

I think maybe the RS4 MAF is in a 3" housing, but I don't know if it has the same connector and gives out the same signals as a S3 MAF.

Background:
I use a 3" MAF from S3 on my Leon, bought in may and installed with bigger turbo.. The first one lastet quit long, but it startet to fail and became dead (always reads 0,06-8, and fault: "air mass sensor dignal to low").
I bought a new one (Didn't get it on warranty because they wanted to check it in the car wich was supposed to be original and not chipped and use other air filter).
The new one lasted just a couple of days, but this one died very suddenly on a track day. I had full throttle, and decreased it a little bit, and then almost all the pressure/power was gone, and I got a fault code with some limit exceeded and the MAF fault code. So the new MAF was dead as well.

I find this weird, because the S3 MAF should cope with this much air as it's about the same power as a revod LCR / S3 / TT225. If it's my filters fault, it is weird that it just suddenly dies completely and not just gives out wrong values.

Any idea why this has happend twice (and suddenly), or if something else could be wrong?

I tried to just hook up my old small MAF, and this gives out values, so it shouldn't just a wiring fault.

Some car specs:
Leon Sport 20VT (180hp APP engine)
Turbodynamics Hybrid K04 Turbo
S3/TT 225 MAF (3" - part no: 06A 906 461 E, Bosch part: 0986280211090)
250-260++ hp

its simply a 0-5v sensor stuck in a larger tube...
simply bunging a larger tube in will trick the ecu into thinking there is less air coming in that their really is...

why do you want a larger MAF?
modified car? bigger turbo?

Do not want a larger MAF housing, I am already using the S3 3" MAF. I have a big turbo, and I think the MAF can't handle the amount of air without getting faulty. Was thinking that the S4 sensor is designed to cope with more air than the S3 one, and still is in a 3" house (correct me if I'm wrong).

So it means that I can use the S4 sensor on my ECU (APP enging 180hp) (the signals are the same (it just gives out another voltage for the same amount of air as S3 maf?), but I would have to do a remap? (that's the my plan...)

my S4/RS4 housing is just bigger, same sensor inside it. It only ratio's the velocity air past the sensor for a larger diameter tube the same air mass will go slower past the sensor.
Sensor itself is the same tho so far as I know

I've killed a good MAF with vibration under very enthusiatic driving. I think that is likely to be the problem here........

Do you think the MAF goes faulty just by putting the right foot down?

(by the way, it is a while since the MAF died, the last ones have just resulted engine running poorly when accellerating, especially just before 4000rpm)

No, but vibration is amplified at high speed on a rough patch of road.
